I’m guessing that there are binders full of other charges that Paulie wasn’t pardoned for that can come into play.

There can be no justice in the land when it is the relationship to the dictator - ahem the president - that determines whether or not one suffers consequences for their actions.

I was never comfortable for charges at both state and federal level until there was something different about them - I hope that Vance has other charges that he can levy against this traitor.

finding that the law only allows for “very narrow exceptions.”

any chance of finding out what those exceptions might be?
being a traitor earning income from numerous countries while catering to trump as a middleman isn’t good enough huh.

I do.

Although I agree wholeheartedly with you that they should prosecute Chiselin’ Trump, I think that it is imperative that they also prosecute those whole enabled, aided, or abetted Chiselin’ Trump in his crimes.

You know they were conducting illegal conspiracy in all these places.

Great message to America’s teens and next generation: crime pays in ‘merica when you are ‘connected’ or a giant monopoly!

If the state charges are really a case of double jeopardy, it’s only right he should not be tried for the same crimes again. Regardless of how much of an ass-wipe he is.
There are double jeopardy laws on the books for a good reason.

Double jeopardy from state charges should not come into play when there is a federal conviction & pardon.

Seems weird that the pardoned “jeopardy” still counts as one of the two of the “double jeopardies.”

Two or three years ago people were wondering when the Dem-controlled Albany legislature would revoke that law. I gather they never did. Why not?

This was a foregone conclusion. Why is Vance grandstanding?

Jeez. I hope he’s better at nailing T****. This is a joke.

They did, but manafort’s state prosecution preceded the closing of NY’s double jeopardy loophole.

If Manafort is apparently justice-proof, then Congress should feel no qualms against subpoenaing him under the auspices of a full review of the Mueller investigation. As Josh has said, we need a full accounting of the crimes that occurred under Trump.

The judge is a Democrat appointed. by Cuomo. There must have been a sound legal basis for this.

And if Trump gave the pardin to Manafort in return for Manafort continuing to coverup Trump’s crimes?

Yeah but it’s not a bar against double punishment it’s against the double risk …Manafort was at risk in the Federal system and if he had been acquited it would still be double jeopardy to re-try him at the state level. Same with pardons.

The problem here is that we so distrust the grounds for the pardon that we are convinced that the whole thing is a miscarriage of justice.
