Man Carrying Weapon Arrested Near Kavanaugh’s Home

The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that a man from California carrying at least one weapon was arrested near Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home in Maryland after he allegedly told law enforcement that he wanted to kill the justice.

The tragedy here is that the weapon was small enough to carry. For shame.

I would suggest that even if this perp were successful in assassinating a sitting SCOTUS Justice, nothing would happen on real gun control reform.

I’m just not sure what will “trigger” any real gun control legislation. Children and old people slaughtered and nothing has changed.

…he allegedly told law enforcement that he wanted to kill the justice.

Smart…REAL smart.

Why would anyone say this to law enforcement

Sounds as if he’d been on LE radar as they were aware of threats he’d made. The right wingers will run hard with this to demonstrate how crazy lefties are out to kill justices they disagree with.

The right wingers should run to protect this patriot’s right to bear arms and to administer 2nd Amendment Solutions.

Hopefully, Kavanaugh has only one door on his house.

Kooks are bad, threats of violence are bad, actual violence is bad, I think Kavanaugh is a lying nut, and the only appropriate possible recourse (if you feel any is necessary) would be impeachment. It’s worth writing that down.

And this is the type of excuse my Republican Congresswoman and her supporters have used for 10 years to say why she won’t hold an in person town hall. That the crazy will erupt, and she shouldn’t have to feel threatened. This is same excuse she used when protesters used chalk to leave her messages on the sidewalk in front of her home, well before Susan Collin’s husband called the police because of chalk messages in front of their house.

I think I found the weak spot in the plan.

When hearing from constituents who are responsible gun owners causes you to rethink things.

In 81 after Reagan was shot I thought for sure there would be some impetus for gun and mental health legislation.
You figure the man who was shot by a deranged person who had easy access to a firearm and nearly died would have used his political capital (Tip nRonnie!) pushed a Brady like law, background checks etc. Nope, instead he gutted the ATF.

When I see a local Repub political candidate with a gun on a TV ad and threatening Fauci and every Democrat in Congress nobody ends up in jail.

Someone -a family member maybe?- contacted L.E. Loose lips and all of that.

The title from the lead article on the main page…

What Would It Take For Guns To One Day Go The Way Of Cigarettes?

… … … … … …
What would it take?
I think I know the answer.
Nothing changed when my Congresswoman, Gabby Giffords was shot in her head and several others were killed and wounded in a Safeway parking lot here in Tucson. My next door neighbor was killed that day in 2011. I saw the carnage myself…with my own eyes.
The only way something will change with respect to guns is if several children from families of Congressional Members get mowed down in a mass murder. That and only that would change their minds. Otherwise the over riding response from members is based on their need for reelection. Reelection needs over ride everything else.

Only if Members of Congress lose family members to gun carnage will they understand.

I truly hate to say such a terrible thing

Mass shooters routinely pass background checks. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of any who didn’t obtain their assault rifles after passing the background check, even though the existing system failed in at least a couple instances (notably Sutherland Springs, where the Air Force neglected to report the shooter’s criminal record).

In Wyoming no less. It’s a state where firearms violence is the high preponderance of suicides.
Most firearms owners there know that you don’t need an AR to shoot varmints.

Watch this become the “See the left is just as bad” story on Fox, putting it side by side with the Jan 6 political discourse, aka riot and murders by the right.
