House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) officially launched his disinfo campaign/Trump retribution crusade guised as an impeachment inquiry today. TPM isn’t really covering it, at least for now, because it’s not a serious matter. It’s a concession Comer and other hardliners squeezed out of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in exchange for some sort of shutdown averting cooperation — a deal far-right members did not keep to a cartoonish degree.
“In a new national NBC News poll, 56% of registered voters say Congress should not hold hearings to start the process of removing Biden from office, while 39% say it should.”
So only a minority of sheet-wearing, suicide-cult, Fox-snorting freaks have utterly lost their minds?
Ever since the Republicans took the House I’ve been asking where in the Hell did they find this guy Comer, and why did they make him a committee chair?
Well before this inquiry was started Comer would hold hearings and then talk to reporters about the new shiny corruption they heard about from some witness. But when the reporter looked at the transcript the witness didn’t say what Comer claimed he said.
This wasn’t even spinning, this is out right lying.

If where there’s smoke there’s fire is true, then where there’s even more smoke it must mean there’s an even bigger fire. Comer and the Kult are off to a great start in their effort to impeach Hunter President Biden.
Democrats have great messaging against Trump. Why else would Donald have tried to sink him for so long, to trick Ukraine into being the source for a conspiracy theory specifically against Biden?
I live in Fairfax County and I viscerally despise Youngkin. Just looking at that slimy excuse for a human being makes me want to retch. The cruelty and lack of empathy is astounding. Early voting started last week. Today I signed up to hand out Democratic sample ballots at the government center over three shifts during the next two weeks.
If the Republicans manage to get control of the state senate the two things at the top of their to do list are banning abortion and eliminating early voting. I’m determined to do anything I can to prevent that from happening.
While I am not a Virginian, I wanted to thank you pinksnapdragon for your efforts and who are working with you. I wholeheartedly agree with your assessmner of Youngkin. He is stupid and evil.
I know this is on Twitter/X, but it’s worth seeing: TX Dem. Rep. Greg Casar asks for members of the committee to raise their hands if they believe both Hunter Biden and Donald Trump should be held accountable under the law if they have broken the law.
You’ll never guess who did (and didn’t) raise their hand. Nope–you’ll never guess. But it’s still very instructive to see.
