Trump’s Favorite Excuse in 2025
“I don’t know.”
Speaker Johnson’s Favorite Excuse in 2025
“I haven’t seen it.”
We have another national security threat! Subject of his latest overnight rant.
…social media rant.
Trump said The Times published what he described as false and misleading reporting and accused it of biased coverage, without providing any evidence to support the allegations.
Not only no evidence, no indication of which article was the trigger this time.
Blue states need to withhold federal funds.
The internet will become irrelevant and untrustworthy. That’s my prediction.

Letitia James is swearing in Zohran Mamdani at midnight. Bernie Sanders will be swearing him in at 1:00 pm at the inauguration ceremony and block party.
Mamdani will first take the oath of office at midnight on New Year’s Eve, administered by James. He will then be sworn in by Sanders during a public ceremony in the afternoon on Jan. 1.
In a statement, Mamdani said it would be “an honor to be sworn in by two leaders I have admired for years: Attorney General Tish James and Senator Bernie Sanders.”
“Attorney General James has taken on powerful interests in her defense of New Yorkers and embodied the principle of equal justice before the law,” he said. “Senator Bernie Sanders laid the foundations for our movement with his steadfast commitment to the dignity of working people and his belief in a government that serves the many, not just the few.”
“I can think of no better leaders to help usher in a new era for New York City,” he added.
Sanders previously swore then-Mayor Bill de Blasio into his second term at the beginning of 2018.
The inauguration will include a traditional swearing-in ceremony on the steps of City Hall at 1 p.m., as well as a first-of-its-kind public block party along Broadway’s “Canyon of Heroes,” Mamdani’s transition team said.

The transition team said Mamdani will be sworn in alongside Comptroller-elect Mark Levine and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. All three officials will speak at the ceremony, which is set to include music and performances, as well as interfaith elements.
In a statement, Mamdani said the inauguration would reflect the priorities of his incoming administration.
“This inauguration is a celebration of the movement we built, the mandate we won, and the city we are prepared to lead,” he said. “Working New Yorkers are at the heart of our agenda, and we invite them to join us as we welcome this new era of politics to City Hall.”
Hopefully not behind a paywall.

The Guardian has the text of a damning e-mail sent by a US Attorney for the Southern District of New York in January 2020. The email is in the set of Epstein files newly released yesterday.
Trump flew alone on jet with Epstein and unnamed 20-year-old, new files suggest
In fact Trump flew multiple times on Air Epstein, including once with two women who were described as possible witnesses in the Ghislaine Maxwell case.
The DOJ is saying that the new files contain untrue allegations against Trump. The DOJ just forgot to say that the allegations were being made by a Trump-appointed US Attorney.
Well, I swear!
Gonna repost this because I think it’s important

Exactly! This is not defeatist, this is visionary.
in the US
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will swear in the Mayor of New York City? So, can just anybody walk in and “swear in” a government official? How about conducting weddings?
