So since it is not MM, no cat?
Shame on YoU.

Methnks they’ll settle for privatizing the lot, and walk away with the cash.
Another misdirection. Cratering the government is good for the GOP.
I think we have to be smart
That is off-brand, out of character, and, most importantly, completely outside their skill set.
At some point we’re gonna have to be adults
See above.
“Social Security is taxpayers money,” he added. “Would I want to take more money away from them? No.”
Only one-half is taxpayers’ money. The other half is their employer’s money, so we cut benefits by 50% and quit taking money away from the job creators. That way we both incentivize people getting back to work and provide the funding mechanism to make it happen. Win-win.
In a world with no FDIC, how am I to know which bank’s assurances of my life’s savings’ security are worth more than a square of gas-station toilet paper?
That will never not be funny.
It’s wild that it doesn’t get more attention. It’s both pathetic-at a “my mom says you have to play with me” level - and just really fucking wierd ( derogatory). The epitome of loserdom.
“I personally am against that but I haven’t heard that,”
So no one told her what she thinks?
And she never said to herself, “Self, you are against that!”
Ohhhkaaay….
I know you mentioned Medicare Advantage, but I have a medical transportation company where much of our business is Medicaid. They have very stringent requirements and will not pay for standard items that everyone else pays for (wait time, no shows, returns from one way trips out of our service area) and are by far our lowest paying broker.
They require us to maintain a 94% On Time Percentage over hundreds of trips and if we have lots of trips in an afternoon and start getting behind, they’ll pull scheduled trips from the API until we’re caught up. All of our trips are GPS and date stamped verified and we’ll get auto audits if we show transportation on a day that they’re not showing the patient had treatment. They also have regular audits of sending a handful of trips that we have to verify that we were actually at the insured’s house or the medical provider’s location at the exact Tim we said we were there. I’ve seen more than one transportation provider play fast and loose with the rules or timing and lose their contract.
I know we’re healthcare adjacent and not healthcare itself, but it’a not like the current system is oblivious to fraud, waste and abuse. In fact, we take classes on fraud, waste and abuse every year.
None of them wil protect your investments.
Execs who dont maximise their company profits will be quickly fired and possibly prosecuted for stealing potential profits from their investors.
Foreign banks may have more favorable terms.
Welcome to the third world.
I was amused by the idea that he could function like one of those ex-gun runners or reformed drug dealers and drop a dime since he was an insider on Medicare fraud for so long.
The GOP will not help SS by raising the wage cap so the only alternative is to raise the retirement age and/or cut benefits.
Hey, remember when the 6’4" chair of the House Ways and Means Committee had to flee a town hall meeting with his own constituents, and was chased down the street by an angry mob of senior citizens because he supported changes to their federal entitlement program?
(IIRC, at one point, a little old lady threatened to break his windshield with her walker.)
Those were the days…
I, rascal crone, do solemnly pledge that if given 3 million dollars, I will not accept social security payments when I turn 65. Join me in this experiment by donating to my fund, and I’ll update you all once a month so you can see if I stick to this pledge.
This is a very interesting perspective. Thank you.
Putting fraudsters in charge of cutting fraud is a genius move. It’s almost as genius as having Congresscritters who don’t know that the critter in the office next door is planning to blow up everything their constituents count on.
“I don’t know how that happened—it musta been AOC” will be the most used phrase in 2025.
Not all of us can be Senators and stay at our job far past the point where we are useful (which was Day 1 in Scott’s case).
Gov’t isn’t “broken” in the ways they say it is; the Gang Of Pirates just doesn’t like it.
Where do I send my check? - or do you do Zelle?
Of course. They are all about robbing the piggy bank while blaming ‘the people’ who pay into and need the social safety net. The greatest nation in the world??? Not when they get done with it.
One of the best summations I ever read on the rationale for this was from Roy Edroso some years ago: Aside from the usual rhetorical legerdemain politicians engage in – and the fact that Republicans these days don’t really know what they are up to until Trump tells them – there is this unifying, driving force viz
… they all came out of the same Big Bang of hatred for the New Deal and its legacy: Big Government and the coalition that sustains it – blacks, gays, unionized workers, women, et alia. Each conservative tribe has its own relationship to that legacy … But …many of them have learned that it would be more effective …to strike at the state that enables that coalition than at the minorities themselves.
