MAGA Looks to Notorious War On Terror Lawyer For Trump II Inspiration

No, but he can set the process to revoke tenure into motion.

I suspect that would be triggered if one bar association or another was to disbar Yoo. So that would be the place to start.

There’s only one place that fascist belongs–before the World Court on charges of advocating torture.

She has quite the CV. When she worked for Chevron, an oil tanker was named for her.

Yoo would hafta get in line behind actual practitoners of torture.

“Yoo argues in the memo that if the military is serving a national security purpose while operating domestically, and not a law enforcement purpose, then certain constitutional provisions either do not apply or have been already met.”

They love this game over at FedSoc: “Yeah, but if we just define up as down, then…”

Pretending “national security” is magic language to remove something from “law enforcement” when it takes place on our soil is just definitional alchemy.

Actually, it was Ari Fleischer who said that. It was Karl Rove who gave the interview to Ron Suskind wherein he talked about how the Bushies had transcended the reality-based community by forcefully creating their own reality. (which sounds creepily like something the interrogator O’Brien would say in 1984).

All I can say is the obvious, fuck Yoo.

I thought the supremes decided that back around the civil war – that you can use the military only if there’s active warfare going on in a region, and civil order has broken down. (Of course FedSoc would say “Horrors! Jaywalkers are running rampant!” and claim that satisfied the breakdown of civil order requirement.)

And, of course, the current Gang has said that even if it’s illegal to use the military, you can’t prosecute the president for it, and he can pardon everyone who carries out his orders. (Although a president like tsf wouldn’t pardon pre-emptively – he’d wait until a case was brought so that he would have even more leverage over his minions.)

Indeed. And failing that attempt to inject disinformation, the back up is to simply leave the person incapable of trusting ANYTHING because they’ve been trained to believe it’s all phony. I was thinking about it all weekend after watching some YouTube video and it’s very Catcher in the Rye…like deliberately inducing that perception breakdown…and we know what that book is associated with.

Unfortunately, the flip side of that assimilation coin is that when the mass deportation squad shows up to round up all the “illegals” those conservative neighbors that the immigrant is working so hard to assimilate with will most likely have no problem with them being detained. Those conservatives will be just fine with their immigrant neighbors trying to prove their citizenship from a detention camp with no access to their documentation or legal counsel.

Sometimes, we’ve seen the conservative neighbors complain about the detention and deportation of undocumented immigrants, either because of the loss of local services or because (some of) the local immigrants are “good immigrants”. It’s only the ones over there in the next neighborhood who are bad and must be cleansed.

Could end up AG in a TIFBG administration.

If that happens, no one is safe.

I am sure some Germans in the 1930’s ‘complained” about what was happening to their Jewish neighbors as well, but most then decided to keep their heads down and be thankful that they were aryan.

Ain’t that the truth. And they’re masters at the game. When reading Yoo, gotta wonder if one’s not reading a Monty Python script.

I think the agreement has been reached regarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two other defendants accused of plotting the 2001 terror attacks in which they have pleaded guilty to some charges. TBH, the Bush administration fucked up this case with the use of torture (see Yoo’s role) in getting confessions/evidence. If I were the judge the sentence would be life with no parole. No idea what the sentencing options are here for the judge though.

But the topic here is John Yoo and his disregard for human rights and his endorsement of torture. Why are you wanting to move the goalposts?

“There is, of course, no equivalent crisis today. There’s nothing that even bears a passing resemblance.”

Jesus H Mother Mary. Really? Do any liberals possess anything approaching a fucking imagination? You think because there’s no real crisis that we just shrug our shoulders and forget about it? They invent one. They provoke one. They just make some shit up and toss you in fucking prison for bringing it up. Being an evil fascist fuck is easy. You just do whatever the fuck you want and let liberals run scraming in circles.

Every religion needs an enemy. The cult of Christianity that was invented around the year 290 chose the Jews, the oldest most established religion and thus accused Jews of being “Christ killers.” That evil has echoed throughout the millennia and has never stopped. if you added up the list of crimes that the christian cult has committed against humanity it will take your breath away.

And those unfortunates rounded up by tRump’s Waffen-SS no doubt will be incarcerated in domestic “black sites” and subjected to Yoo- authorized “enhanced interrogations”; accompanying DOJ authorizing memos will be available upon request.
