MAGA Looks to Notorious War On Terror Lawyer For Trump II Inspiration

I think, alas, that he does have a moral compass. He is consistently oriented toward positions most of us would consider evil. He’s also a perfect example of the kind of federalist-promoted lawyer who starts with the desired result and then shovels a bunch of ostensible reasoning around it. As long as republicans aren’t getting prosecuted for their crimes, he thinks the law discourages political prosecution, but as soon as tsf gets convicted, they’re the way to go.

Do not forget that Dickless Cheney was “training” W at that time. W was not much more than a figurehead, and Cheney, Rummy and the hawks in his cabinet were the ones calling the shots. It took W two terms to actually become a President and tell Cheney that he (W ) was actually in charge.

John Yoo got a plum professorship at the law school that used to be called Boalt Hall. Jay Bybee got a lifetime appointment to the 9th Circuit. Roberts and Alito are on a joyous romp through settled law to unsettle the things we all thought we had agreed on.

W can endorse Kamala Harris until the end of time - he has already done his damage and left his GOP mark on our country. And he almost broke the world, lest we forget.

My take is that DonOLD is afraid that after he wins the election then the Dems will rise up and riot. This goes hand in hand with his claims that anyone standing up for their rights is a terrorist. I guess these ladies scared him the most.

It is telling that DonOLD keeps harping on the George Floyd protests. Will his new DOJ, if he gets re-elected, write him an authorization to arrest any persons of color that are in a group that has more than three colored people gathered together? Snark or not, DonOLD’s idea a being a strongman leader is that anyone who objects to him is a terrorist. And must be dealt with in the most over the top methods.

Mel Brooks’ Tourquamata is wonderful. I just wish John Yoo was as much fun. He is much closer to the original Tomas de Tourquamada.

Trump’s Last-Ditch Effort To Delay Sentencing ‘Incorrectly Filed’—Attorney (msn.com)
Donald Trump failed in his latest attempt to move his falsifying business records sentencing to federal court due to a filing error, a legal expert has noted.

Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance described how the former president’s lawyer Todd Blanche “embarrassingly” did not follow the correct protocols while submitting their latest legal argument, and said that it had been “incorrectly filed.”

On August 29, Trump’s legal team sought to move the hush money sentencing, currently scheduled for September 18, out of a New York state court and into a federal court. The move was seen as another delay tactic by the former president to stave off his sentencing until after November’s election against Kamala Harris, or have the case dismissed altogether.
