One thing I have noticed is that unlike other Speakers of the House, I have not seen Johnson on any of the Sunday talk shows. Maybe he goes on FOX but otherwise “they” and by “they” I mean Republicans, are keeping him off the other than FOX shows because he will be destroyed, he is not ready for prime time.
Last week I saw Steve Scalise on This Week on ABC and George Stephanopouos kept asking him, “did Joe Biden win the 2020 election” and Scalise kept refusing to answer.
I really think if Mike Johnson does an interview with someone not in the tank, he will be exposed as a crazy zealot. But the point is if you cannot put the Speaker of the House, 2nd in line to the president, on television, you will not be able to pass a budget.

Phillips said today that he’d head back to Washington this week to vote in favor of Johnson’s proposal. “It’s not perfect, but it’s a whole lot better than a shutdown,” he told NBC News.
