MAGA Hats and Middle Fingers Louisiana Gov. Brad Landry (R) took a break from throwing out tens of thousands of his constituents’ votes this week to take a little foray to Greenland, the off-and-on target of President Donald Trump’s imperialistic whims. Predictably, the locals did not take kindly to the special envoy’s visit. One woman…
“Who cares more about Greenlanders than the Trump administration and the president? Because it seems that before the president, no one cared,” Landry exclaimed to the scrum.
This ‘cares’ may be stretched past its breaking point here; although, there are viable alternative uses for it:
“Donnie cares deeply about Greenlanders opposition to his imperial ambitions.”
Donnie is deeply concerned that Greenlanders may be an impediment to his plans to extract the island’s mineral wealth."
You know, like that
I’m not mathematical genius, but a $1,776,000,000 slush fund divided by 1,600 J6 rioters, is roughly $1million each. With $176 million left over for the extra special boys and girls.
The Senate Majority Leader is promising to provide security for the Senate parliamentarian, to protect her from the President of the United States.
I really, really care about this nice island you got here. Would be too bad if something happened to it, wouldn’t it?
That’s sad. ..trump pickin’ on a girl.
What a weenie/s
Why does this administration sound more desperate by the day?
I’m glad the J6 police officers are going after the slush fund. As was discussed here recently, the issue of standing looms large in this matter, and it seems if anyone would seem to have standing it would be the cops injured during the attempted insurrection. But I’m not a lawyer, so what do I know?
How about the people who actually live on Greenland? Just a guess that they care about themselves far more than president mob boss.
“Who cares more about Greenlanders than the Trump administration and the president?…”
I’m certain the Czechs and Poles were equally flattered by how much Hitler cared about them.
Yes, it’s well known that the British’ future colonial subjects would be oversome by emotion and just swoon when Her Majesty’s army, navy and marines would stop by for a visit.
The slush fund questions should be treated as if the complaint had never been filed and the case never existed, since, when given the opportunity to demonstrate that the court had jurisdiction, Trump never responded. Jurisdiction was assumed by Trump, questioned by the court and never established. The motion to dismiss the case and the settlement were both frauds on the court. The question here is very simple: do the president and the IRS have the authority to disburse money from the US Treasury to anyone without Congressional approval. And the answer is similarly simple: No.
Yeah, I don’t think so. I think at least $1 billion is gonna go to Trump. Whatever crumbs may be left over is what he’ll toss to his people.
Yeah, can’t quite square that obvious conclusion either. No recourse jumps up from Congress, and SCOTUS is in the bag. Even the Dunn et al. lawsuit is questioned by some. Hope for the best.
Brad Landry, having humiliated himself to please the boss, will return to Louisiana and soothe himself with more racist, misogynist cruelty against his own constituents.
Meanwhile, Bridget Phillipson, Labour’s UK Women & Equalities Minister, is about to publish official guidance on a ban of transgender women using women’s bathrooms. Everything is stupid and horrible.
This is just so ridiculous, it’s pathetic. Really, a political system that would allow a lunatic like Trump to be elected to an office as powerful as the Presidency TWICE and THEN allows the neutering of the “checks and balances” to control the Executive’s illegal behavior by a seditious political party whose sole purpose is to block the Founder’s institutions from functioning, IS LESS than WORTHLESS. It’s PATHETICALLY INADEQUATE.
Something is fundamentally wrong with this system that doesn’t seem to be common to democratic parliamentary governance systems.
When Trump is gone, it is clear that our Constitution needs substantial reforms. That may include a closer look at more modern forms of democratic governance like Canada’s or the EU’s parliamentary systems. Really - the system we have now is simply not working and it may be time to start over.
250 years is a long time. Most bread, wine, people and ideas become stale, or bitter or deceased or obsolete after 250 years.
Trump pulled another Biden today and slurred his words at the Coast Guard commencement, and was largely incomprehensible in his word salad. The part that I loved was his misunderstanding of the CG mission
“You know, you don’t really realize how important the Coast Guard is until you have a hurricane.”
A DBeast response:
Holy shit, Brad Landry thinks he’s a viable presidential candidate?
