OK. Maybe look at online voting Louisana…baby steps.

I’m not sure delaying the primary is a good idea. The number of infections is likely to be vastly larger in two month’s time.

I’m going to say this now - no f*cking virus is going to keep me from voting that orange piece of crap out of office in November, so I don’t want to hear a single solitary thing about “postponing” the 2020 Election due to “concerns.” :mask:

Oh shit we better have elections in November god damnit!

This is the downside. Once the precedent of postponing elections has been set…

This is a mistake and will only serve to widen the divide with Bernie’s people. More people will get to vote now if they hold them than will get to vote later if shit has hit the fan, and it will leave us without a chosen candidate until late summer, because this is going to be treated by Bernie as an opportunity to try to make a comeback and will only encourage his desire to stay int he race until the bitter bitter bitter end. The last thing we need is people claiming this was part of some plot screwing Bernie out of the nomination.

Just a prelude to shutting down November elections. Don’t think for a moment this isn’t being discussed.

The pandemic was going to force this to happen anyways. If you truly want the Nov election to go as scheduled, we need to take aggressive action NOW.

We can wait till June (or later) to settle Biden or Bernie. If we’re at November and this still isn’t under control, we’ll have far more serious things to worry about than postponing the election.

I’m from Oregon, and we’ve had all vote by mail for quite a few years. It works well - and you have to sign your ballot envelope, and the signature has to be verified before they open the envelope.

Vote by mail is more secure. We’ve been doing it in Oregon for years, and there have been no big problems of which I’m aware (and I pay attention).

Louisiana is a gop state. Voting is not encouraged by the PTB is this god-rotten state. There will be all manner of stupidity to prevent vote by mail, if there is even a straight-faced suggestion for such a communist notion.

It strikes me that this doesn’t matter so much. If there’s a republican primary, you may see bad news for trump, and for the democratic race it just doesn’t matter that much.

I am a Democratic county selector in TN.

As of last night, TN is conducting our Congressional District Conventions via phone teleconference, rather than meeting in person.

Next Saturday, around 400 county selectors in the 4th congressional district are going to call in and these 400 strangers are going to have about 2 hours to decide who our 42 national delegates to Milwaukee are going to be.

No word on how we will handle the National Convention.

i don’t think JBE had much choice on this one.

If ever there was a moment for Sanders to do the right thing and concede the nomination and spare millions from having to endanger themselves by voting or attending conventions, this is that moment. He needs to step up and do what’s right by the nation. The revolution can wait.

Odds are that he will not.

Nope, more vectors for Bad Actors to hack our elections.

As @edgarant and others have reported Oregon (and WA?) do vote by mail and it works. And they are hand marked paper ballots I presume which is FTW.

One can hope. I can’t disagree with your take though.
