It leaves us with deciding to give Grift America a rest and divert the public commentary away from Outrage Incorporated to simple, common sense (and less click-bait) policy
Not long ago, I advised my daughter against becoming a teacher. The hatred of teachers by not only GOP politicians and activists, but by regular voters is enormous and increasing. I experienced people that although they loved our kids teacher and though our school was great, they had the most unchristian feeling against teachers and public schools in general.
I dunno about those, at least they get paid well. My daughter just found out how extremely competitive Nursing Schools admissions are.
Wonderful idea. However, not all people have mailboxes (like many tribal areas / reservations. And not until DeJoy is gone…. He would F it up in a heartbeat.
I know that nurses are paid well, but the stress of the job means that they should be paid well.
I seem to remember reading something about nurses leaving the field after Delta and before Omicron hit. I’ve also been reading that more nurses can bet paid better if they’re traveling nurses. Booking jobs where and when they want to work. So I wonder what that shift will do to the cost of healthcare?
I have advised others to avoid the profession as well. Public education has lost its internal way with some people who occupy positions of authority - but know nothing about education. The external influences view it as an accessible punching bag to score political points. See: CRT or transgender sports, or whatever invisible boogeyman lives in your rhetorical region.
Grifting managers are partly to blame. Some people sprint into lucrative management positions while expending the bare-minimum effort to get there. Combined with the reasons you mention, there are too many reasons for anyone to avoid entertaining a career in the field.
Colorado (of which I am a resident & voter) HAS VBM. One still has the option of going to the poll, in which case your mail ballot would not be counted. Most of us use the mail-in ballot. I haven’t been to a physical poll in over a decade. One could rig ALL the machines here and it still might not be sufficient to sway the results. Not sure Tina Peters fully grasped this concept.
