Florida election officials sent an urgent letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) Tuesday, warning of the many issues a sustained or reborn coronavirus outbreak could cause for the November election.
Ya right , This is Florida with a Republican Supermajority
They live for voting problems
They have no interest in Democracy or people voting
DeSantis wants as much confusion as possible to continue the great tradition of Florida fucked up elections.
When this is over, we will have all lost someone we know.
Here’s where leadership comes into play in a democracy. It’s obvious there are technical means for doing mail-in voting, such as by having everyone confirm their mailed-in vote via a web-site or phone call, for example. People like DeSantis have drunk the cool-aid, however, so they view their job as being one of minimizing votes, not maximizing voting. We’ll see how all this plays out, but it’s important for there to be a really excellent airing of the alternatives to business as usual, so that DeSantis can be shown there’s a serious downside to obstructing progress in this regard.
Now you know why they want you to think this will only last 30 days. Moving goal posts…
How obstructive are Florida’s absentee ballot rules?
Does the local election board get to decide whether your request is "justified " ?
Listen to that language: “sooner rather than later”; “must be quickly forgotten”; “perhaps like never before.” This is the voice of someone who knows his shot at re-election hangs by the slenderest of threads. “We MUST forget (sotto voce: my abject failure as a leader)–you hear?!?”
She called for more accommodating absentee ballot regulations [and] that early voting polling places should be kept open on Election Day.

There is a solution for folks who don’t want to be disenfranchised:
File NOW for an absentee ballot for November. Don’t wait. Don’t think maybe it’ll be better later.

This sort of pie-in-the-sky blathering is all he has left. Nothing he was counting on to help him in the general election exists anymore.

I think President Trump will appoint himself as acting president and cancel the election this year. How long will this last? We will have to just wait and see. I am sure Acting president Trump will have everything under control.
