I would bet a huge amount of money they’ve already got a pretty fleshed-out distribution plan based on what the best options are right now and what can be ramped up over the coming months. These people do planning for a living and have all their lives.

Seems to be the fed/State delineation where there’s no real plans. States are on their own to put in requests, and the feds dole it out on an adhoc basis comparing the incoming requests with reported supplies.

Not good management if you want to get tanks into the field. Should be centrally calculating the need for what tanks are needed where, and deploying them from that level, with visibility from the factory to the battlefield.

Just knowing that competent people are trying to make the vaccination program successful eases my mind enough to realize that I don’t have to read every story and see every news conference about COVID now. I underestimated how much constant stress it was to know that Trump was actually in charge, and what a relief it would be to know his influence is gone.

I can’t speak to specifics much, but on the fed level they’ve got to be monitoring what the manufacturers project they’ll have available when, and look at transportation and storage and pathways to areas of greatest need, how to prioritize distribution to the most vulnerable and most essential, and certainly more. There was a ton of work they could have done. And that knowledge is certainly around; all you have to do is coordinate it. And this is not a new undertaking; vaccines have been distributed for a very long time now.
