Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), vice chair of the Jan. 6 Select Committee, previewed what to expect from the panel’s upcoming public hearings in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Thursday.
Let’s make sure the hearings are during prime time. Why not have separate subcommittees look at other crimes, like Trump destroying and “omitting” document? They can have prime time hearings as well.
I just hope NBC doesn’t go “Olympic” on the hearings. I don’t want to hear 45 minutes on the current emotional status , or childhood hurdles overcome , of the defendants, for every 5 minutes of actual hearings.
"Recalling an old magistrate’s words to a young attorney, The rain it raineth on the just And also on the unjust fella; But chiefly on the just, because The unjust steals the just’s umbrella." – Sam Ervin, former U.S. Senator from North Carolina, best known as chairman of the Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities, which investigated the Watergate scandal during the administration of Richard M. Nixon
Cheney added that the committee’s public hearings will also show how election fraud falsehoods led to the deadly Capitol insurrection last year.
I’ll never forget how Republicans in late November anonymously (of course) said they weren’t going to speak out about Trump’s grievous lies about election fraud because what was the harm? Fast forward about 6 weeks and I guess they found out. Not that they were going to do anything about it.
I don’t understand at all why we keep hearing "maybe … " "under consideration … " “possibly” "working towards … " and weaselly shit like that in reference to Jan. 6 hearings. We totally need to go 100 percent Watergate Hearings here. What possible argument against that could there be? What is the actual question here?
