Yeah, I gave up on one whimpering, sniveling word from him long ago.

Up is down, black is white, truth is fiction -nothing is as it appears. Everything needs to be molded to fit Trumpā€™s ego.

Ashley Parker says Pence was seen in the White House today without a mask. Asshole.

And Curly was good at what he did. People who like the Stooges are pleased when a Curly one comes on. Trump is Curly Joe.

I canā€™t. I just canā€™t. If he does something extraordinary Iā€™ll watch it later, but I donā€™t have the desire to make him look important.
I appreciate those of you who will watch. Seriously, you are taking yet another one for the team.

How many people in the White House, including Secret Service people, are getting tested every day? Anyone know?

Heā€™s just trying to be fashionable! OT, but my test for cv antibodies was negative. Iā€™m satisfied with the result, but some tests are more reliable than others, so when the Red Cross contacts me for their test, Iā€™ll have that one, too, just for comparison.

The plan to manage Covid-19 inside the WH is to ignore it. Someone will become gravely ill and of course will be given warrior status.

Until one or more can really sick and/or die. Iā€™d bet most people there are afraid.

So far today, we have around 11,000 new corona virus cases and over 500 fatalities. Yesterday and today are tracking lower than the previous 5 days. NY/NJ may be seeing some real drops in fatality counts so Iā€™d expect the overall case/fatality totals this week to be less than last week. That said, CDC and other studies do look at this week as sort of the calm before the resurgent storm as May 15 is the date that many states are more fully lifting social distancing measures.

One model Iā€™m looking it is from researchers associated with the Philadelphia Childrenā€™s Hospital. They did a study for the WH CV Task Force last week which was suppressed. It models different outcomes based on how much social distancing is relaxed and by when. Itā€™s similar to CDC in broad strokes in that relaxing now results in higher case counts/casualties than if you wait until early June. This model doesnā€™t have numbers as drastically high as the CDC/JHU model, but the general trend line is the same and thatā€™s really what matters at the end of the day because weā€™re at a very high baseline right now. Any increase above this baseline even by 500-1000 cases per day above where weā€™ve been over the last 4 weeks would likely break many of the health care systems across the country. Just keeping the case count where itā€™s at now (or even 300 below) would result in catastrophic casualties. https://policylab.chop.edu/covid-lab-mapping-covid-19-your-community

Anyway, this model breaks things down at the county level, using selected county data as a guide to project nationwide. One example I looked at is Dallas County, TX. Abbott was among the first to announce that social distancing would be lifted in the state. Thereā€™s some discretion with localities, but just the very announcement of it has caused more mobility which could weaken compliance.

The model assumes that Dallas is at a 65% social distancing level at the present time. At that level, cases should be dropping across the county. Their projection was that Dallas Co would average 82 new cases per day for the seven day period from May 2- May 10 (576). The actual data was 245 per day resulting in 1720 new cases. One possible interpretation of this example is that social distancing eroded a bit more than expected across the county, which kept the case count high. In fact, that number last week was near the April high point for the county. By relaxing social distancing to a 33% level starting May 15, the case counts start trending upward.
