The second day of public impeachment hearings features the testimony of Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine who was recalled after an aggressive smear campaign pushed by Rudy Giuliani and his allies.

One point is that the House will do well to broaden its scope here. Why not go after the issue of paying off a porn star, obtaining tax returns to do that? There are other issues to pursue. As noted in the NPR interview using a single piece of malfeasance may not be sufficient to be successful both in the Senate during trial and in the court of public opinion.

I appreciate Schiff’s sober recitation of facts in his intro, and we’ll get nothing of the sort from Nunes.
But now Nunes is mooing about Watergate fantasies and cults…
I don’t think she has a lot of direct evidence, but she does have some information about Rudy, Lev and Igor and the other conspirators. She also has information about corruption in Ukraine.
Trump’s ominous comment about her in the call notes reflects Trump’s view of professional women generally.

My good night … this is the first opportunity I’ve had to watch these hearings on TV … Devin Nunes sounds dumber and more unhinged than I thought.
Our Justice establishment is as corrupt as theirs, perhaps more so.
Who’s the guy behind Nunes’s left shoulder? He looks pretty goonish to me.

If you can, before you watch this travesty read a short Bio on Ms. Yovanovitch. She’s one hell of an impressive person. Then watch as these GOP’er assholes try to take her down for their true god Trump. They’ll talk about corruption a lot. But isn’t dragging a fine person through the mud as corrupt as it gets? They’ll call her partisan but she’s worked under 2 GOP administrations ( got raves from the Bush folks ) and was serving America well under Trump until she ran into GOP partisanship. Every American that watches this should be brought to tears.
