Live Blog: Trump’s Second Impeachment Trial Begins | Talking Points Memo

That wasn’t a mistake. Insurance companies adjust who is in their network all the time, always have, always will.

Obama’s point was that nothing about Obamacare would change the current processes in place. There is never a guarantee that your doctor who is in-network this year will also be in-network next year.

Yeah, I think a mulligan is in order. Just like the mulligan Neville Chamberlain gave what’s-his-face. Boys will be boys! A little Poland invasion here, a little Sudetenland there. What’s the diff?

I’m glad that’s the new standard. Fixing to get my retirement via a large bank withdrawal if we all get a mulligan for doing bad things.

No biggie! After all, that’s where the money is!

If y’all aren’t going to acknowledge his impeachment as his mulligan then how about Charlottesville? That seems an apt mulligan for the next act of that play - the insurrection.

So here we are firmly ensconced in TRump world with the 45th President of the United States and former vice president Biden. At what point does cognitive dissonance render one unable to function in a society based on facts? The Great Denial is strong here in Mesa.

Trump suggests Republican should impeach former President Obama

That was before he was elected and learned about all the tremendous, beautiful powers of the presidency under Article XII.

OT sort of, but shouldn’t all the members of this trial be wearing N95 masks? It would seem appropriate to me.

Speaking of Saint Ronnie I hope you get the chance to read the article about how that bastard started the corruption and dehumanization of our immigration program in this months Mother Jones. If you think you hated the son of a bitch up till now just read this gut wrenching article that justifies every iota of hatred you had but couldn’t quite put your finger on it.

It’s too bad this is going to be pointless, I doubt anything will convince the Republican Senators that facts and truth are more important than their fear of Donald Trump and his minions. It’s probably why Democrats don’t want to bother with witnesses, there isn’t going to be a point…and, I suspect they will put up hours of statements on video from the insurrectionists about why they did it, and who inspired them to do so. The evidence from real people will make up a lot of the case (or it should), having more come in to testify won’t move the needle on that…the only thing that might is if the death of Brian Sicknick is described and makes the case stronger (I still have yet to see a description of what happened).

Be ready though, the last impeachment had somewhat competent lawyers on Trump’s side giving a disingenuous defense…this one has hack lawyers trying to change the subject, and maybe blame Antifa, Democrats, or whoever else they can. It’s going to be a real show, made more galling because they could say absolutely nothing and still win.

OT, but the “you caught us doing it so now we’re going to accuse you of it at every turn” nonsense just doesn’t stop with these people…

Ingraham: Biden leading ‘insurrection’ against American people

Sure…the insurrection wherein he and his party pass policies that polling shows are overwhelmingly popular…uh huh…

ETA: I hope the FBI and DOJ decide that his little fake “inauguration” he has on March 4th constitutes sedition and incitement in and of itself and then indicts him.

I was working as a case manager when the ACA went into effect and I personally worked with dozens of people whose lives were changed for the better and even saved by the ACA. It was imperfect in every way, but people have already completely forgotten about lifetime limits, insurance plans that didn’t pay shit for hospitalization and never being able to qualify for insurance thanks to “pre-existing” conditions.

I cannot count how many folks I helped enroll in the ACA who had no idea that they could get insurance. despite the amount of information that was out there. They just had no idea. The fact that the Republicans were not able to kill it entirely is a testament to the underlying power of the idea that healthcare should be available to everyone. Which is why I always say

Fuck insurance - give me healthcare!

Nope. He was asked about the effect of the ACA on those who have insurance through their employer, because there were lots of false rumors flying about being forced to change insurance and doctors.

Obama’s response included a much longer explanation of how the ACA would affect employer-based insurance policies. The specific mention of keeping your doctor referred to the fact that nothing in the ACA would change the way employer-based insurance policies determine eligible providers.

That statement was true. Some employers changed their insurance companies and those insurance companies may have had different restrictions. It was the insurance companies themselves forcing the change, not the ACA.
