Is embarrassment an illness?

ETA:I should be nice, but he was definitely a big part of the problem, and he knew it.

It’s hard to feel sadness for dear old Lindsey. He could have had a better legacy. What’s left is an empty seat. A seat a Dem needs to fill.

Mitch McConnell just finished talking with Lindsey for 20 minutes about UKRAINE, IRAN, the SAVE act and more.

Is this good for John McCain?

Any obit of Graham that doesn’t mention his role in the Clinton impeachment and his craven hypocrisy during Trump’s is… not telling the whole story.

That makes it like pretty much every other obituary.

If Graham doesn’t show up on Meet the Press we’ll know for certain that he’s dead.

Lindsey was a cosponsor of the Advance Act to deploy nuclear reactors, particularly small modular reactors (SMRs). He was a big proponent of deploying scalable SMRs in South Carolina. Nuclear accidents, however, leave a long and large footprint, Many byproducts of fission reactors are relatively short-lived. Strontium-90 and Cesium-137 have half-lives of approximately 30 years, so the radioactivity of high-level waste drops significantly within the first few decades after removal from the reactor. Plutonium-239, a major byproduct of fission has a half-life of 24,110 years. Some uranium isotopes, such as U-235 and U-239 have half-lives of hundreds of millions of years.

Many posters here probably remember the Jane Fonda - Jack Lemmon - Michael Douglas film, the China Syndrome, which had its wide release just 12 days before 3-Mile Island. The China Syndrome refers to a reactor melting its way to the core of the Earth. Now, oil-drilling tech from the Permian boom is being redirected to put the reactor in a hole a mile deep. Then when there is an SMR problem, it’s already on its merry way. Sort of a grandchild of underground nuclear weapons testing. And what better place to start than Kansas now that all the groundwater has been ruined. Fuck, yeah!

Responding to Josh’s comments about Graham always needing a top dog to follow – he was always a reliable lieutenant to whomever he served, but he never set the agenda. Always a follower, never a leader.

Everything! Everywhere! Is GREAT news for John McCain!

I figure that our best case theological scenario is that Lindsey has joined John McCain in heaven, and will now spend eternity in his disappointed and disgusted stare for destroying the party that he loved.

A short illness? He was sick with hate and meanness for a long time.

Here comes the world about to out him with a million stories too.

Lindsey: Mitch! What are you doing here? I thought you were still alive!
Mitch: Well, it wouldn’t be hell if I didn’t have to continue talking to Thune and Scott Jennings.
