According to Trump, he had “IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE” that would exonerate him, that he was going to release in a huge new conference at his golf course last week, but decided instead that he was going to present it in court.
So his defense is ready to go, right?

I think TRUMP’s fear about seizure is that the government will immediately search MAL if they seize it, and if they are not already in a position to simply take it, they might be soon. (Remember also that we know very little about his IRS situation.)
The reason to “sell” it to his son wasn’t to gain the money, it was to put all his dirty laundry out of the reach of the government that is suing him so they won’t find it and use it against him.
And I’m sure he feels uniquely possessive of MAL. It’s a big famous status symbol, and, in fairness, it has been his home for a long time.
ETA: I forgot to mention, but it was also suggested yesterday this trick won’t work.
If it were anybody but TRUMP, I’d interpret this as a suggestion that his true reason for transferring the property must be something else, because nobody would bother with a scheme that will probably fail.

I just googled What is the most expensive mansion in America? It’s in LA and valued at $295 million. Selling Mar a lago to junior for $435 million sounds like Trump money laundering as well as his typical way of overvaluing properties but undervaluing them for tax purposes.

I object to the term “bootleg” as used in “…predictable tirade on his bootleg Twitter app…”. In the past the term has always meant to reproducing something of value and selling it to people who wanted it, like my bootleg Beatles album. This is different - shit on either end of the stick.

Years ago, Obama thought “the fever would break” after he won in 2012. Instead, it’s just gotten worse – and given the cult of tfg, I feel like it will never break until he passes from the scene – as in literally ends up worm food (preferably in an un-mowed section of his golf course, or in a courtyard of Mar-a-Lago just prior to a hurricane turning poor Marjorie Merriweather Post’s old home into kindling and rubble).
(I should add that I know people in the Palm Beach area, and I hope any hurricane that strikes the city does the narrowest possible damage. Perhaps a tornado?)

The LA property is a private home. While MAL is DT’s residence, it’s also a club that generates income. Yes, DT and Jr are trying to do something shady with the sale, but the LA home doesn’t seem like a valid point of comparison.

However Mar a lago is a bit more than half the square footage of the Bel Air mansion.

Sorry, I’m not trying to be obtuse, but I’m not following. The value of a club that generates $200,000 initiation fee per member, plus what I assume are outrageous fees for events, etc, is going to be based on more than just square footage. Again, I’m not saying that the $400 mil sale price is legitimate. I’m just saying we shouldn’t compare a business property to a private home.
