RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Liberty University is opening an independent investigation into Jerry Falwell Jr.’s tenure as president, a wide-ranging inquiry that will include financial, real estate and legal matters, the evangelical school’s board announced Monday.
This should be good.
Facet your seat belts.
Liberty has been scrutinized by accreditation bodies for years for its lack of administrative transparency and accountability, not to mention its academic credibility. Falwell ran it like his personal fiefdom/ATM and no-one dared cross him. My bet is that we find out over the next weeks and months that watching his wife schtupp a pool boy was probably among the least serious irregularities that occurred on his watch.
Let the probing begin…

Liberty University, A Little Late to the Garden Party
There may well have been hypocrisy and a failure over time to apply moral standards to the president of the institution that were clearly applicable to students and to faculty.
Ya think? Allegations of his peccadilloes and corruption have been widely available for what, five years? And they never bothered to investigate any of them? I’d say yes, that’s hypocrisy and a failure.
The couple said in a statement provided to The Associated Press late Sunday that they support Liberty’s board and “welcome any inquiry as we have nothing to hide.”
Well, not now, at any rate.

The NASCAR Cup Series #24 car sponsored by Liberty University won the race on Saturday - and the first words out of the crew chief’s mouth to his driver were:
“You better do one hell of a burn out.”
The irony is that a hell-like thing is apparently a good thing. Add to that the fact the crew chief was obviously smarting and defensive about Falwell Jr getting caught spending student fees on himself when the driver of the car is a student at Liberty U.
