They have no feasible solutions and will have no feasible solutions because the ACA was basically their idea that Obama reprocessed to pass through Congress.
We won’t go back to the status quo before the ACA, so what now for Republicans? They don’t want to improve Obamacare and they certainly don’t want single payer, so they’re caught in another vise grip of their own making. Which is why ten plus years later, they still have no answers.

Yes. A little while ago, I heard a Republican congress critter on NPR insisting that the Congress should not pass a temporary restoration of the Obamacare subsidies, because next year, Democrats would come back and want another “temporary” restoration and it would never end. He said Obamacare was crap (not his words) and needed to be replaced with something that was actually GOOD.
Not mentioned by anyone was, the reason “Democrats” would be coming back “next year” and the year after that, ad infinitum, was that the Republicans would NEVER come up with an alternative, much less one that was “better” or “actually good.” Not in all of 2026, nor the year after that, etc.
They have had over a decade to put forth their own Great Plan – which even the First Felon brags about – but nothing has ever materialized.

Heather Cox Richardson’s piece today is a must read. A very concise, lucid history of the 75 year post-war NATO pact and description of the Russian proposal that puts words in Trump’s mouth for handing Ukraine to Russia, just ahead of the bitter winter. No involvement of Ukraine or Europe, but makes concessions on behalf of both. Becoming a Trump trademark, like the CR that caused the shutdown. Had zero consultation from the other side, but the side opposing or negotiating it is the problem. Also worth noting, it separates the US from NATO by calling for the US to mediate between Russia and NATO.
How many times do the US and Russia have to pull this move before Europe (NATO) and Ukraine just join forces and take Russia down?
