In other news, the legislative branch thinks about defending itself from the power hungry judiciary. Will somnolent legislators wake up in time to keep the judiciary from making them obsolete? Dobbs did not, but taking their power and agency may be a bridge too far.

If it is so important to cut the budget, according to the GOP, here is a way to do it. Cut all funding for SCOTUS staff and security. Just pay the Judges. And no one else.

Strong words for Durban perhaps, and a legislative hearing will probably be the end too as long as there is a filibuster and an old guard unwilling to remove it, but a big blue wave might convince even them it’s time to adapt a little to the times. That’s what I want for Christmas for at least the next decade. That and a pony. Thanks.

The “anything” about an unchecked Judiciary ( particularly SCOTUS ) is not likely to be fruitful. There’s a point behind “appointed for life” . The citizens can’t do shit about appointments because they don’t make them and “for life” means just that. Big error by the Founders in that one.

Dick Durbin. Boy, he’s gonna show them. Hold a hearing in September. Should have held a hearing immediately after Biden was sworn in, or at least the minute Thomas’ bribes came out into public view. Or at least after they upended Roe.
