Leahy Has Returned Home After Hospital Trip | Talking Points Memo

Fair point, but I was focusing on the older the Senator,

  • the higher the actuarial tables work against them,
  • the greater the odds of dying on the job,
  • the greater the chance of that Senator being replaced by a member of the opposing party if you don’t have the right governor in place.

That commitment might not hold up if Scott is contacted by the Proud Boys and they inform him various family members are right now in the crosshairs of a sniper’s scope.

It might be time to ask former Justice David Souter to take over the helm at the impeachment trial. Souter fills in on the Appeals Court when needed.

All that’s certainly true. However, our system leaves the determination up to the voters, not the law.

Adam Schiff would make a fine senator. Maybe next speaker? Schiff is going to go down well in the history books. A true straight shooter.

The Democratic Party establishment are ridiculous! Why are we allowing so many grannies and grandmas to control the party? Heck, I’m 66 and I can’t go to the grocery store without a list or I’ll forget 1/2 of what I need.

Feinstein, Pelosi, Leahy, Biden, and others should be retired…time to hand the reigns off to younger and much more progressive Democrats. They’re alos smarter and hungrier to take our nation back from the Republican Confederacy!

Hey, Vermonters! This is why you shouldn’t elect Republican governors, even if you think it looks cute. It could have unforeseen implications for your representation in the Senate - and thus the fate of the world. Get all your shit together next time, please.

Amy Klobuchar

I voted for her last time as de Leon was way too far left, even though I had issues with her being too authoritarian. Since then I’ve been calling and e-mailing her office a lot as she appears to think there are good faith Republicans. She needs to retire now, it’s clear she’s not prepared to fight.

There really should be an age limit on standing, say 70, to force out the old people on both sides of the aisles - much as I love my parents, they’re in their 70s and shouldn’t be running a country.

I’m glad he’s ell.

Also glad he found a hospital with room to see him. Something we have far too little of in Southern California.
