As 2023 winds down and lawmakers gear up for a reelection year and time back home among constituents over the holidays, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is attempting to rehabilitate her reputation. The message she’s trying to communicate to voters back home? She’s “sorry.”
I really thought the apologies were going to be about handy-jays and vaping at a family themed theater performance. Color me surprised.
I guess swing district sez it all.

The Israelis bombed the largest refugee camp in Gaza a couple hours ago. Hundreds are dead. Israel claims it was to kill one guy who was a leader in the 10/7 attack.

Deadly Israeli airstrike hits Gaza’s largest refugee camp
… … … … … …
I have hated war since my protest days in the 60’s
I cannot support this. I cannot support Hamas either. It’s just murder. Like they want to kill every last human in Gaza … innocent or not
I’m right there with you. While I fully understand Israel’s need (and right) to respond to the horrible massacres of October 7(?) but killing innocent Palestinians, not to mention surely losing some of their own soldiers, is an awful way to answer. I think Josh is on the right track in proposing that an independent Palestinian state is the only real long-term solution, I can only wonder how we get there from today. My heart breaks for the dead and wounded on both sides, but not for the terrorists. The problem is distinguishing them from the civilian population.
Well she certainly owes them one but then that could be said for the entire country. It will be interesting to see if someone ascending while insolent, ignorant and mean can get to an even keel while keeping the voters who liked her better insolent, ignorant and mean. Can she spit on the libs and do Q while acting more like an adult than a teenage delinquent and will that work? Sure hope not and not simply for Hunter Biden’s sake either.
The people reap what the leaders sow; in Boebert’s Colorado as in Israel. In both those places, the people have a big hand in choosing their leaders, and so have a hand in the sowing as well as the reaping. In Gaza, not so much.
If you heard Bibi’s speech yesterday
collateral killing is different than targeting civilians (I’m paraphrasing)
seems to make no difference to the innocent victims killed,
they’re still dead.
A few thoughts on Boebert:
Colorado’s HD 3 isn’t really a “toss-up” district. An ordinary Republican can easily win this district with a 60-40 margin. Her 0.17% ‘win’ shows how disgusted this district is with her antics.
Lately she’s been photographed with a baby carrier (her grandchild). A baby-toting grandma couldn’t possibly have been giving hand jobs in a crowded theater.
Yesterday we received a flyer (paid for with your tax $) boasting about all the projects/cash that she’s brought home to her district. If I’m not mistaken, those were a part of Biden’s infrastructure legislation. Irony anybody?
I believe that the fact that the Palestinian territory is in two distinct pieces makes a two state solution untenable. Palestinians need a single contiguous territory that they can realistically control. That means Israel is going to have to cede the land necessary to create a land bridge between Gaza and the West Bank, or the West Bank will have to be enlarged to accommodate the Palestinian people from Gaza in exchange for ceding Gaza to Israel. None of their people should have to cross multiple national borders to get to work or buy groceries or visit their families. Also, I believe that ultimately, Jerusalem, at least the holy parts of the city, will need to become an independent entity like Vatican City to protect the structures and right of access to Christians, Muslims, and Jews. I’m not sure either side has the fortitude to go down this path.
