Latest Witness Is Leaving A Michael Cohen-Shaped Hole In Description Of Hush Money Scheme - TPM – Talking Points Memo

I think that the whole Cohen making the payment from his own account because not authorized and couldn’t get tsf to pay may have been a smokescreen. They would have had to falsify business records anyway if tsf wasn’t going to declare the money as income for himself. And paying the hush money directly would have been much more of a tell.

Seeing Donald Trump die might be the only thing keeps him going

I haven’t been following this trial closely, but seems to me when Cohen was on trial, him (Cohen) paying out of his own account was in fact part of the plan. Am I just misremembering that?

Cohen was indicted, Trump was co-conspiritor
During Cohen’s trial we were told he didn’t act without a co conspiritor

It’s such a common cliche that everyone, Trump, the media, et al, go on at lengths about how Cohen has a “credibility problem” because he lied repeatedly on Trump’s behalf.

How is that a problem in this case?

He lied on Trump’s behalf is kind of the point.

So when he testifies against Trump, how does his having lied on Trump’s behalf, even going to jail on Trump’s behalf, make his testimony against Trump questionable?

You have to get meretricious in there. And smelly.

It’s years past time for comeuppance to be served on TSF
We (or maybe it’s just me) need resolution.
TSF has had *FAR too much media time.

LOCK HIM UP

And take his phone away

Let’s not forget he spent 3 years in jail doing a deal for Trump and lost his law license from that.

Abominable. And also preposterous.

Cohen paid Daniels with his own money and then pushed like hell to get money out of Trump which he ulitmately did and the prosecutor has the cancelled checks signed by Trump. I don’t think attacks on Cohen’s truthfulness are going to work. He may be the lying loser Trump says he is but so what, as the prosecution is building brick by brick, he kept the receipts. The prosecution has set up the case soooooooo well that I doubt the defense has a plausable counter narrative.

Just calling him a liar isn’t going to be good enough if you can’t explain the Trump signed check paid to Cohen.

For the past 6 years I’ve been thinking squalid covers the most. But there’s plenty to go around.

Everybody says this is the least of Trump’s crimes but I am beginning to think it is the crime that best fits his scumy character. It discribes just who Donald Trump is and always has been.

Trump has a chance of being convicted here.
And 8.33% chance. It take only one juror to nullify a jury.

If he is convicted, the sentence will not involve incarceration.

He was abused in that he followed his boss’s instructions and was prosecuted and jailed, and nothing happened to the instigator.

This is always true with a criminal trial. Everyone was saying the same thing about the EJ Carroll trials, How did those turn out?

Yes, but he’s survived better than a lot of them.

Ive never seen Cohen being an asshole. It’s always on MSNBC where it’s sympathetic conversation and he looks good. But according to testimony he could be a real asshole back working for Trump.
I can see that.
