Well, governor Putz-in-Boots has already got his election Polizei, and he’s installed his lackeys in the state university system, the health department, etc., so “correcting” the media is hardly a surprising next step.

“Freedom of speech for me but not for thee” is apparently how things work for Republicans nowadays…you can say whatever you want as long as it agrees with them. Not really a surprise, that’s how they behave about all kinds of things…but this is a party not interested in upholding the Constitution but instead forcing us into a Christian theocracy, and they will do this everywhere they hold power from now until the Christian nationalism fever is broken.

Using the signature verification process, which is in theory legally legit, to send the message that “we know who you are and where you live,” was famously a Hugo Chavez technique. DeSantis really is pond scum, but at least I enjoy knowing that every day he looks at JD Vance and laments that it could’ve been him.

I can’t get back to Florida before election day so I voted absentee. The ballot measure we are talking about is a paragraph of Amendment 4 surrounded by paragraphs of bullshit intented to talk a voter out of voting for Amendment 4. It is the very epitomy of obfuscation we should all worry about when citizens are fighting in the face of an entrenched opposition with absolute power. I urge everyone in Florida to vote for Amendment 4 and vote out each and every Republican running. They are doing no good for the State.
Stay safe in the face of Hurricane Miltton. The Biden administration is going to provide all the help the American government can inspite of DeSantis silliness.

Since his wife Casey is a breast cancer survivor would he mandate those same media outlets to run advertisements about treatment options that only him and his quack surgeon general approved of? Or would he force them to push the false narrative by the so-called pro lifers for years that abortion increases the chances of breast cancer?

We need to start fighting back in a way that cripples their response. En masse, we simply need to ignore their bullshit. The front lines of this fight are the lawyers who work for affected companies. They need to simply refuse to go along with it. Call their bluff. Loudly. And in public. Doctors need to refuse to provide any care as long as they’re under constant threat from the state. Mass nullification. Simply refuse to go along with it. Totalitarians require compliance. They are not prepared for millions of individuals simply refusing to go along with it.
