Larry Kudlow put on an incredible display of scientific ignorance on cable news Friday, asserting that the virus was “contained” and that Americans should go on with their lives.
It’s never easy to know exactly how situations like this are going to play out but, if I had to make a bet, I would put a lot of money on Kudlow really regretting having said this, and very soon.
How they think that this clear lying is going to calm the markets is beyond me.
Everyone there is smart enough to know that the reason the case count is so low is that we haven’t had wide testing. So the number of cases is going to spike sharply as things go.
Wouldn’t harm the fundamental underpinnings of things, so investors aren’t going to panic over the spike-- they expect it.
But this sort of thing makes them scared that he’s covering up other things that the government already knows, which they haven’t accounted for in their positions.
Why is this man bloviating about something he knows nothing about. It is not contained especially in the U.S. which is playing catch up. We do not have testing kits distributed yet and the death toll continues to climb. Downtown Seattle is a frickin’ ghost town, the U.W. is closing and moving to conducting classes remotely.
Basic competence is not in his wheelhouse. He is not going to Vegas, he will not make the cut, he will not be on the show, he will not be the next American Idol.
So far everything that’s come out of Larry the Lush’s mouth in the last 50+ years has been 1000% wrong — every single thing! So the law of stopped clocks indicates he might be right this time. NOT!
Whatever Larry Kudlow says, believe the opposite. It is an investing rule that will never fail you.
This is the guy who kept saying “buy” and there were no issues for the year before the 2008 crash and 6 months later.
Kudlow is a pumper and dumper. He is a fraud. And the next administration needs to pull every single stock transaction while he was involved with Trump, see if he was trading on inside information. I would bet a lot he is.
