Trump deal with Japan a blow to US car manufacturers. Japanese vehicles pay 15% Tariff, US automakers pay 25% on all imported components plus 50% on steel. Makes more sense for Toyota and Honda to produce in Japan than the US. Of course GM, Ford and Stellantis are howling.

It never ceases to amaze me that people still buy cars produced by those three manufacturers. Consumer Reports essentially recommends you take a cold shower and snap out of it if you’re contemplating the purchase of a Jeep branded vehicle. That pretty much goes for anything from the U.S. legacy automakers. Various pick-up trucks may be the exception, they seem to get good marks.
