Kuwait Leader Suspends Parliament For Month | Talking Points Memo

Kuwait’s emir announced this weekend that he will suspend parliament for one month in anticipation of the planned questioning of the interior minister by the assembly’s opposition members, says Reuters. The Kuwaiti constitution allows Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah to take this step, which will grant time for negotiations between the government and elected parliament members.
