Mother Jones obtained a memo from the Russian government to the country’s media outlets urging them to use clips of Fox News host Tucker Carlson peddling a Russia-friendly narrative about the Ukraine invasion on his show.
It’s great that the kremlin is loudly, publicly cheering on tucker and the faux crew. Makes it a bit difficult for murdoch’s propaganda organization to profess a patriotic commitment to our freedoms, doesn’t it? What say you, rupert old man?
Shouldn’t kid myself though, faux’ll continue to market themselves to their base as the last bastion of freedom fighters despite the obscene reality of their actual stance.
Another day of rightwing insanity, so it must be Monday.
BREAKING: Fox News host Maria Bartiromo reports that “some people” have told her that they “feel that” Biden is not only too soft on Putin but even sees him as a partner! Imagine the President of the United States cozying up to the the Russian leader like that!
‘Some people’ are probably folks she met at the bar last weekend that were half-drunk out of their minds.
And she conveniently forgets the summit between Putie and TFG, doesn’t she? Or the meeting with W when he reported he looked into Putie’s eyes and saw his soul?
Conveniently forgetting all that, are ya, Maria???
And now the conservative media are reporting on Russian cancel culture and how we shouldn’t ignore the arts and music coming from Russia? Everyone conveniently forgetting ‘freedom fries’???
Why is no one pointing out this nonsense???
First, enough about Carlson and Fox and Bartiromo. They don’t deserve the airtime or the electrons on our screens. It feels like clickbait. Somebody is chronicling their lies (MediaMatters, for example), so just tell us to go there.
Second: Re “When the House Jan. 6 Committee finally puts out its public report…”: What, no hearings? Wow. Totally missing the boat. The media will air what they want in their different echo chambers. Live testimony, on the other hand, speaks for itself, even if it’s an idiot pleading the 5th. The Dems are passing up a golden opportunity.
Bartiromo goes straight to the oh-so-popular “some people” line.
Who the hell are these people? Anybody have a clue?

Remember Phil Donahue being fired by MSNBC during the run up to the Iraq War for not having the “right face” at a time of war, or some such crap.
And then there was Peter Arnette who got a one way ticket to Palookaville for interviewing Saddam Hussein.
Yet the Los Angeles native was the only “Tokyo Rose” prosecuted . She was convicted of treason in 1949 and served more than six years in prison.
I’m not sure the Murdoch’s give a hoot about democracy. They’d be oligarchs under similar governments as Putin’s.
Whatever happened to Lord Haw Haw, Tuckski?

Anyone doubt Carlson’s angling for an interview “up close and personal” (well at least at a long table) with Putin. And why doesn’t he bring Trump along so Trump can tell Putin, “don’t attack Ukraine” and that “the 2020 election was rigged”.

Now, all those “originalist” bullshit artists on the Reich can either arrest Fucker, or shut the fuck up now and forever.
