Koch Network Has A New Plan For 2024: Any (Republican) But Trump

Personal note, Emine: If you have any family/friends in southeast Türkiye I hope they are safe!

The Koch Network is, of course, the oil/petroleum, big-money billionaire political messaging group. Many of its profits were from Putin’s Russia as oil oligarchs, and they want Ukraine to fail so they can return to being Russian oligarchs. It’s well known that Koch funded the state legislature gerrymanderings since 2010, to disenfranchise non-white and non-conservative communities; they funded attacks on climate change science, which has now proven to be correct. Koch funded the recent culture war front of the critical race theory claims in schools to push state-controlled conservative white preferences in youth education. So now, this far-right Putin and oil/gas-loving group will take the lead in Republican Presidential politics? Once against, rural conservatives are foolishly backing big money pol/gas corporate interests that are hurtful to town wellbeings, that also want a clean environment and fewer hurricanes.

Any Republican but Trump?

Whatever the underlying strategy is, actually articulating the words won’t resonate very well with Individual One.

Suuure the Kochs and their “charities” won’t be funding that former guy.

Until he begins his campaign, and they do.

Americans for Prosperity — the fundraising network that forms a key part of the conservative billionaire Charles Koch’s political influence operation — is suggesting that it won’t be supporting former President Donald Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries, saying it will throw its weight behind a candidate “who can lead our country forward, and who can win.”

That would be no GOP candidate…there is not a leader among them unless gangland leadership is a desirable trait…also love the monikers for these types of political bribery organizations…we know which Americans will prosper …and it’s the ones who are NOT trickling down their growing obscene collection of wealth.

One might think a better economy would give mega-corporations better pickings from a more prosperous working class eager to consume. For example, imagine the wealth that would flow to auto manufacturers if people coud actually afford to buy a shiny new car every 2 or 3 years. As it is people are currently financing daily commuter cars for 5 or 6 years when internal combustion propulsion will be well on the way to extinction and their value will be approaching nillo. The answer is that a healthy prosperous population would be better educated and not allow itself to be victimized at every opportunity. Stupid has become a political commodity.

He got it done in his chosen “presidential colors”, right? The ones that were rejected for Air Force One because they would cause unacceptable hot spots to develope?

Those reasons, and if companies and individuals are in financial pain and have to sell off their assets, the well-off can buy them for pennies on the dollar.

  1. Come on, shouldn’t the headline be “Republicans in disarray” as you do when Democrats have internal party debates. 2.) Also the Koch Network should be described as a far right, anti-democracy oil-gas billionaire funded political message group. It funded state anti-democracy gerrymandering, fought climate change science, and now funds white conservative controls in youth education.

Shorter AFP/Koch…“Oil Uber Alles”

There are many who theorize about facets of Trump’s 2024 POTUS run.

At some point, however, there will be more apparent the connection between Trump’s run for president and the abrupt decision to launch the Special Counsel Investigation of Jack Smith within days of each other.

No doubt. Two months ago I thought Trump was toast. Now I’m thinking he will get the R nomination, even if he is in jail (not that I expect that) - because no one can defeat his army of cultists in the primaries.

At that point (if it comes to that), everyone will fall in line.

If we want to elect better people, we need better candidates.

That’s quite the dilemma when you’re fishing in the GQP lake.

So DeSantis then?

“The Republican Party is nominating bad candidates who are advocating for things that go against core American principles. And the American people are rejecting them,” the memo read. “Lots of people are frustrated. But very few people are in a position to do something about it. AFP is. Now is the time to rise to the occasion.”

Also, plebes, you’re welcome.

Sadly, Charles Koch would probably consider DeSantis to also be a good candidate.

The Koch family has always prioritized the wealth of white men like themselves, and Charles Koch’s father helped finance the Birch Society, so he’d probably consider DeSantis an ally.

It certainly is looking like DeSantis vs. Trump, with DeSantis looking more likely at this point, and also more likely to beat Biden at this point. And that’s the key thing, that it’s at this point, not when it’ll actually matter as we’re just under a year from primary season and a lot can happen till then. But there’s a not insignificant chance that DeSantis is president in 2 years, because year, American voters really are that stupid. That ABC poll, however loaded and even push it was, suggests that Biden & Dems have not done a good job of selling their accomplishments. It’s like they think too highly of voters and believe that they’ll see it for themselves, which they don’t and never will, especially those who are subjected to any amount of RW media. As distasteful and counter to their natures it is, policy accomplishments HAVE to be messaged and sold, like you’re dealing with 8 year olds, which they basically are. Talk to the average voter and you’re quickly realize that you’re dealing with an imbecile. Most Americans are imbeciles. It’s just a fact, about politics at least, also economics and foreign policy.

We should hope and wish that Trump is the nominee. It’ll assure a Dem in the WH in 2025 and Dem control of congress. Trump '24 will not be the Trump of '16, or even of '20. He’s far more hated and far less popular than he was when he just barely beat Hillary in the ECV. Biden might not be popular but he’s not hated.
