Kobach Won’t Say He Wouldn’t Vote For Trump Even If He Said He Was Racist

Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who’s running for U.S. Senate, on Tuesday night declined to say he wouldn’t vote for President Donald Trump even if POTUS said explicitly, “I am a racist.”

" was floated to be Trump’s immigration czar."

Time to float this guy out to sea, no food, no water, no compass.

“I’d have to know who was running against him,” Kobach finally said.

Oh man is this guy a dimwit. They teach you how to slide out of any question like that the first minute of the first hour of the first day in politician school. You just call it a “counterfactual” because of course Trump isn’t a racist, he’s just direct and calls them like he sees them and isn’t politically correct and so forth. Stupid, stupid man.

“How can I answer this in a way that won’t upset the racists I need to vote for me, while also not exposing my own vile racism… Cuomo’s just staring at me waiting for an answer… Think Kris, think!”

“So, Mr. Kobach. If you showed yourself to be a complete idiot on national television, would you still support your own candidacy for the Senate? I mean, would you?”

Luckily for Kobach, the GOP adheres to the idea that as long as you don’t admit bad behavior, it doesn’t matter how much evidence there is, you are completely innocent as long as you are a GOPer. He’ll never have to make that decision. And since they are working hard to make language meaningless, the word itself will be simply a cudgel to use on others.

I think there’s a statistically-significant possibility that, in addition to being a racist opportunist asshole, he’s also a drunk. He shows some of the physical and behavioral markers.

Kobach is, at heart, corrupt. To say his response is awkward is an understatement.

Kobach wanted so badly to say. “Yes, I would still support him as president”

Sure, Trump is a racist, and a fascist, and a white nationalist, and the incarnation of the anti-Christ, and the first sign of the apocalypse…but her emails!!!

The NIH would back you on this to the tune of roughly 1 in 12 men in the 18+ age group having Alcohol Use Disorder. (In the rooms we call that being one of us, and there’s always a seat available.) :slightly_smiling_face:

Racist, Opportunist Asshole Disorder? No question about that.

So effectively he said being a racist isn’t a dealbreaker in a candidate for him.

That face you make when you’re a racist defending a racist against a hypothetical where the racist you’re defending is openly identifying themselves as a racist.

I don’t why are they even waver, Trump has showed that the huge majority of republicans are racist even if they don’t admit it. So there are no votes to loose for coming out as one, the self hating blacks and hispanics that support Trump will continue to do so because the uncle-tomness is part of their essense. And he still count on the democrats that come with bullshit excuses like “I don’t like Trump but I hate socialism”.

“Awkward silence”

Gee, I’m so old I can remember back in the day when we used to call it a “brain fart”.

Kobach always looks like he just got done snorting 12 rails of Comet cleanser.

Yes, one way or the other they can always rely on “I’d rather be a Russian than a Dem”. Dems are so horrible, that no matter where you find yourself on the upper regions of the R chart of despicable behaviors…they are all better than a Dem. Rapists, pederasts, racists, war criminals, traitorous Bundy insurrectionists, Kobaches, Kings, Duncan Hunters, all superior beings.

BTW - Wonder what possible reason they have for letting Kobach get on and spread misinformation or self-immolate or whatever it is he does. SMH

if POTUS said explicitly, “I am a racist.”

You mean like when he declared, at a rally in Houston, Oct. 23, 2018, “You know what I am? I’m a nationalist, O.K.? I’m a nationalist. Nationalist! Use that word! Use that word!”?

Just because he left off “white” in his declaration means absolutely nothing. The message was received loud and clear by its intended audience: White nationalists.
