Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), whose family members attacked him for impeaching President Donald Trump in a furious letter that got published by the New York Times last week, argued on Monday night that there’s at least one silver lining to getting dragged by your pro-Trump relatives in public.
Politics is politics. Religion is religion. Differences of opinion happen. Most families can look beyond either.
When you combine politics and religion things become dangerous. When a you decide to follow a politician who tells you he is on a mission from God, you are on your way to hell.
Ditto. A brother who I was gob stopped to learn some time back is a Rump supporter. A host of evangelical cousins who I keep at a safe distance after being torched in “family” groups emails. “Friends” of many years who we no longer socialize with.
He’s not alone. I’m in the same situation with wacko QAnon relatives who utter the same insanity that was in the letter he got from his Christian relatives.
Which is why I sleep in on Sunday mornings instead of snooze in a church pew while the right wing Pulpit Pimp recites the latest Frank Luntz tested QAP Talking Points!
Actually, the saying is, “You can pick your nose and you can pick your butt, but you can’t pick your relatives.” Too bad the GOP can’t recognize their future.
