Now Brian I told you if you kept skipping history class it would come back to bite you in the ass.
Tell ya what Bry
Open up the google machine and punch in Southern Strategy
Names like Nixon Atwater and Mehleman will pop up
You’ll be AMAZED at the things you read
Don’t 'spose GOP support of KKK and racists has anything to do with it, do ya?
Yup. Just like defenders of the bases named after traitors say: “Democrats named them”
And now Republicans are defending the names.
Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks from 2012 were very prescient then, and are more prescient now!!

A certain demographic found this legislation to be problematic.
I mean, I shouldn’t be surprised that he’s able to say with a straight face “somehow, the narrative flipped”, and truly have no clue why that might be the case, and really have no idea why a latter day KKK grand wizard type (David Duke) would run for Senate as a Republican. After all, whitewashing history is a feature of, rather than a bug in the Fox News arsenal. But…yeah, I’m surprised. Maybe I gave Kilmeade too much credit as being in on the con, rather than just another victim of it, albeit one deeply complicit in the spreading of that particular manure.
Kilmeade always was sort of a dim bulb. Judge Napolitano always schooled him hard when those two were on the radio with each other.
If Kilmeade’s brain were turned into gasoline, it wouldn’t move a flea’s motorcycle half-way around a BB.
This guy is earning a shit ton of money spewing bullshit.
The End.
“Clearly, we need to do a better job of communicating our great love of black people even as we shoot them in the head and cut off the supply of air to their lungs…”
He’s not earning it. He’s just getting paid a lot for his shit. You earn money by doing something of value. This is RW welfare, not earned income.
Brian, you ignorant slut. History did not stop in 1964.
The shift of black support to the Democratic Party began even before the 1960s battles over civil rights legislation and the Goldwater/Nixon Southern Strategy. FDR’s New Deal economic policies during the Great Depression started the shift of black voters to the Democratic Party, which was pretty much completed by the mid-60s.
“Fox and Friends” host Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday repeated his complaint about how the Democratic Party used to be the party of the KKK but yet the current GOP lacks Black voter support.
Ok, Brian, you might want to write this down somewhere so you won’t forget it.
Leading up to and following the passage of the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s, the Republican Party invited all the disaffected southern Democrats (generally known as “Dixiecrats”) to join the Republican Party. This became known as the “Southern Strategy”. This initiative was largely successful.
As a sociological phenomenon, one can note that when you invite racists and bigots to join your party, you end up with a party of racist bigots.
Brian, why don’t you read a History book or two before you spout off? Probably illiterate like His Highness.
You gotta love this cherry picking of history…honest to God.
Try drawing him a picture.

Upton Sinclair’s “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it” seems relevant.
Not all members ofthe kkk were Dems or southerners. We can thank LBJ for getting the 57 Act passed and for all he did as potus. He doesn’t get enough credit for making the Democratic Party what it is now.
