The US Secret Service, in response to Watkins’ claims in the Saturday filing, denied that private citizens were working with the Secret Service to provide security on January 6.
“To carry out its protective functions on January 6th, the U.S. Secret Service relied on the assistance of various government partners. There have been photos of oathkeepers around Roger Stone on the 5th, providing him “security”. He was staying at the trump hotel, where that big meeting involving trump jr. and others was, so entirely possible that the SS agents around the place encountered the oathkeepers and that they spoke. To what extent and about what, who knows exactly, but I’d pin it around that location, where the SS would have been very interested in anyone coming onto their turf.
