I see Florida is now forcing schools to instruct that slaves were given the opportunity to earn a PhD in picking cotton.

I’m gonna start with this one:

Cannon Shoots Down DOJ In MAL Case

Not a huge deal yet, but U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon did reject the Justice Department’s request for a protective order under CIPA for classified information in the Mar-a-Lago case. She cited a failure to confer with Trump’s defense team about the protective order. You’ll recall that prosecutors said they tried to confer but were rebuffed. Cannon said that after conferring with Trump’s team, prosecutor can reapply for a protective order.

How can the DOJ confer with Trump’s defense team when he keeps changing out the players? And those new players stiff have to get their security clearances?
And do the former Trump lawyers on this case have to get their memories wiped after they’ve been replaced?

I like this whole thing where you can not hire a lawyer like Nauta and avoid arraignment, or not cooperate with the prosecutors and just stop the whole trial.

Why every defendant doesn’t just do this, they’d never get convicted of anything…

Oh, right, because the judge would get pissed and throw their asses in jail right off the bat until they complied. And fine their lawyers for contempt.

Judge Cannon will be happy to answer your questions after Leonard Leo finishes up her decision on a court date and can turn his attention to this matter.

I’m sure Leonard Leo will have his stooges on the corrupted court allow it.

Just spitballing here but, in addition to being a Trump stan, it seems quite possible that Cannon is just not a very good judge; maybe a little dim too.

Seems like Cannon is really wanting to say
“No trial now… No trial in 6 months, No trial ever!”
… but she will take her time in getting to that level of clarity.

It can’t be emphasized enough that Leonard Leo has essentially taken over America.

eta: and he’s so short!

Lawfare has this article up telling us what happened in Judge Aileen Cannon’s courtroom. I got the impression that the government lawyers are walking on eggshells because they have no clue on how Judge Cannon is going to rule. What we think is logical and she should be doing, is something that she sees as the opposite. It does make you wonder what is going on behind the scenes. Ben Meiselas believes that Judge Cannon is trying to regain control of the court proceedings and that is why she is acting this way.
