Kentucky GOP Celebrates Voter ID Win; Beshear Criticizes Timing

The Kentucky legislature, girded by Republican supermajorities in both chambers, easily overturned Gov. Andy Beshear’s (D) veto of a voter ID requirement Tuesday.

Folks in Wisconsin got tired of that sh*t, and it is backfiring on Repubs. Kentuckians can do the same.

Another state with GOP murderers.

Beshear expressed his incredulity during his daily coronavirus press briefing.

“I don’t know how somebody gets an ID during the coronavirus where every place you’d get it is closed,” he said.

The Kentucky GOP will happily accept death certificates as a valid form of ID.

So 10 or 20 million from Bloomberg / Steyer to get everyone in Kentucky valid voter ID’s over the next 5 months?

Now that would be a good use of their money. Better than some fancy ad buys.

Hey KY Greed-Over-People Party…you afraid MoscowMitch will lose this coming Nov so you added more voter suppression to “help” him cheat?

Or are you just being your usual POS legislature, intent on staying in power no matter what…such as KAG (Killing American Geriatrics) for Wallstreet$$$/Power/Profits or Judgeships?

One can only hope that the NonMAGA KY Voters will be as brave as the Wisconsinites and kick your cheating, lying and corrupt butts out!

Meanwhile…
Operation Gridlock in Lancing Michigan is meant to intimidate Gov. Whitmer…Where could these insensitive idiots have gotten that idea?

These misinformed and insensitive MAGAts blocking an ambulance!

Last I heard of Bloomberg he was stiffing all of the hundreds of campaign workers he had promised to pay through November no matter what the outcome of his race was…
Maybe I mean consultants?

how about exploring an executive order mandating copies of tax returns of candidates, their spouses, and any associated business or campaign donor be reviewed prior to inclusion on a ballot? conflicts of interest have to be as important as faux voting fraud

just trying to think of some stink that could limit candidacy in the same vein as limiting ability to execute a person’s voting franchise, goose meet gander type of thing

I give up. Until one of the Evil 5 has shuffled off this shit timeline, we’re fucked.

Don’t Governors have unlimited power, just like a President?

I think an ad buy on this issue would be great. The script writes itself:

“Republicans don’t want YOU to vote.”

[photos of students, disabled, POC, elderly]

“They are passing laws that require you to get a photo id before you can exercise your rights.”

[photos of passports, driver’s licenses, concealed carry permits with green check marks, followed by student ids and Social Security cards with red x’s]

“They even forced the voters of Wisconsin to violate stay-at-home orders and endanger their own lives and the lives of those they love to exercise their democratic rights.”

[footage of mask-wearing voters in long lines]

“Their excuse? They say it’s to prevent voter fraud, but they can’t prove that it even exists. The real reason is that they know if YOU vote, they lose. They lose the perks. They lose the junkets. They lose the lobbyist money.”

“Register. Get an ID. Vote them out.”

(But, you know, with professional copy.)

John Roberts name needs to be plastered all over these voter suppression travesties. Roberts has been working to suppress votes since his time in Reagan administration. Remember that whenever he does his nonpartisan court gaslighting.

As horrific as this might sound, the pandemic may have a silver lining if enough voters realize that the GOP will literally do anything to maintain power. Whether it’s Mom or Dad dying because the “American way of life” means so much more than any individual (thanks, Rep. Asshole (R, IN)) or the deflection of blame by the Orange Menace, people need to admit that these clowns care only about themselves.
9 levels of hell might not be enough. Perhaps an addition is needed.

I guess I’m thinking of some kind of assistance on the ground to assist people in overcoming the hurdles to obtaining the documentation.

But for sure, powerful ads could be crafted from this situation. They should use images from Wisconsin.
