A group of attorneys brought an ethics complaint this week against Ken Chesebro, the 2020 Trump campaign attorney who sought to help the former President overturn the results of the election.
The only sensible thing I have seen out of the trump “legal team” is the one lawyer who demanded to be paid upfront. Just about anything else is questionable.
Considering that the same court already suspended Rudy’s license to practice over his J6 bullshit, I imagine Chesebro would be quite worried about his own professional licensure today.
Cheesbro will have to answer the complaint at some point.
Then we shall see what we shall see.
The basis of the fake electors, or whatever he called them, is at the heart of this matter. It’s going to be difficult for Cheesbro to explain how he pulled the idea out of one oriface or another. Certainly with no basis in law.
The legal profession is built on the assumption that everyone is going to tell the truth. You might shade things or you might remain silent but you never come right out and lie. A liar can’t be trusted and trust is what makes conflict resolution possible. Any lawyer who knowingly participated in promoting the big lie is in violation of one of the core principles making the legal profession possible. I hope the guy loses his license.
This shit show has more bad guys than The Sopranos and The Wire combined. I am starting to think that a large proportion of RWGs (rich white guys) may have lost their way over the last few decades. These conservative “think tanks” (intellectual incest bordellos) seem to have produced an astonishing number of Ivy League Guys who have lost all track of right and wrong and think only in terms of how many things can be destroyed without technically breaking the law. What used to be the Best and the Brightest seems to have morphed into the shittiest and most amoral in a very short period of time.
Yes; agree.
But if the little elites & rabble (J6 Deplorables) go down like dominoes for such bad acts and criminalities, it beggars belief that the Big Cheese Tramp shouldn’t also. This is a test of how corrupt our system really is at the apex.
While my more cynical side assumes that, if he loses his license to practice, Chesebro will simply go over to a RW legal foundation or Fox channel.
The case makes sense in terms of the legal profession policing itself of bad actors, and in setting clear boundaries about the limits of acceptable practice.
YES, because it could lead to an unplanned vacation from the practice of law. And even if it doesn’t, it can change a career path.
In over 30 years I have had no complaints filled against me. However, I did file a complaint against an attorney myself. The attorney I filed the complaint against was suppose to be an expert in a certain field of practice, doing business with the federal government. After my complaint he was forced to change specialties as the federal government would not do business with him or who he represented.
When you have think tanks that spread the Objectivist Gospel of Ayn AS IN MINE Rand this is the expected end result–a bunch of narcissistic sociopaths who lie cheat & steal their way to the top.
