Including plumbing questions on the census is not really that far-fetched. Over the last century or so, it has been a valid concern for local governments allocating resources and doing infrastructure planning.
A small town about 20 miles from my house is now a booming sprawl of subdivisions and strip malls. But 30 years ago, it was a tiny, poverty-stricken burg with the highest number of outhouses in the state. Today, there are still about 1.5 million households in the US with no running water.
Maybe the time has passed for the relevance of this question, but there was a legitimate government need to track indoor plumbing prevalence. It’s not for prying into people’s bathroom habits as the demented Republicans insist.

I used to skip every story that included any quotes from KAC, because we all know it would just be a vomited pile of lies, and this is no exception.
However, since the administration no longer holds any press conferences and refuses to reveal any motivation for its actions even when compelled by law, we have to take what we can get, I suppose.

Uh, Obama’s administration didn’t yank the citizenship question. How could the article not correct that bullshit? She’s only saying it because it triggers the base, but there’s some leakage there for people who have, shall we say, an “instinctual” aversion to anything Obama.

As a family historian, I have used the information on past censuses to look for naturalization documents, etc. The problem here is how this administration will use that information. It will be used as a tool for deportation and undercount. Red states like Texas could lose congressional seats.
It is in no way akin to asking about indoor plumbing. And as per usual this administration blames Obama for everything.
