“As a university president, I would not support ‘blackface’ performances on our campus, even if told the performance is a form of free speech or intended as humor,” Wendler wrote. “It is wrong. I do not support any show, performance or artistic expression which denigrates others — in this case, women — for any reason.”
And he knows that drag denigrates women…how??? Has he ever been a woman before? In a previous life, maybe? Does he feel denigrated when a woman wears jeans and a men’s shirt?
I’d like to think there is a talented group out there that can stage a drag parody of Kacsmaryk and other GOP haters to throw it back in their face. Something that artisticly changes them from Santorum into santorum.
In his 2020 and 2021 annual disclosures, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk wrote that he held between $5 million and $25 million in “common stock” of a company – a significant majority of the judge’s personal wealth. The name of the company he held stock in is redacted, despite the fact that federal law only allows redactions of information that could “endanger” a judge or their family member.
This is not about YOU, dominic: I was a fast accurate typist. But now, with my laptop I find the keyboard is just a little ‘too’ small. LIKE I just dropped one L in small. That kind of thing.
I too, if I were typing the word shithead would probably type shitead and have to go back to correct.
Ls and Hs are just in the wrong spot for my fingers because the keyboard is just about an inch both sides too small. Just realized it’s not MY shitty typing, it’s THEIR shitty keyboards!
So As You Like It, Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice, and The Merry Wives of Windsor are all banned now. Great.
ETA: And Mulan, The Return of the King, Some Like It Hot, Ed Wood, and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert are all off the list for their Movie Night events.
Yep, drag was seen as the morally superior alternative to letting actual women appear on stage. I was just limiting myself to some of the plays where the cross-dressing was embedded in the text.
