Mr. Trump is ‘chomping at the bit’ to do the debates. He views them as his best chance to turn around the race by showing that V.P. Biden is too old, weak, ‘low energy’ and senile. I suspect he has vastly underestimated V.P. Biden as an opponent, but that is what Mr. Trump thinks.

And that is the problem. Trump is an unwitting “stupid whisperer”. He is playing a part. This is a breathtakingly positive development for us, but the pessimism and negativity I see here is as ludicrous as the Fake reactions in Trump World.
Now we KNOW from what we have seen that Trump will either be a no-show at the first Debate or a number of other possibilities**…just about all bad for Trump.
** Including the butterknife treatment Trump will probably insist on with every interaction with people until the election. The Base wants butterknife with Trump. The People do not.

The next Congress needs to seriously look at the free political speech provided in this instance and at the over One Billion given during the 2016 election season. It is bad enough that money is allowed free reign, and actions such as a network providing a free forum should at least be counted as a campaign contribution.

I’m guessing he will. Trump invariably imagines that anything he does will be wildly successful. He’s too lazy and ill-informed to assess anything at all, frankly, but when it comes to something involving himself it’s hopeless to expect him to be realistic. He believes his own lies about Biden’s mental fitness. Every one of his advisers will be feeling the greatest possible trepidation, but my guess is he shows up and yammers like always.
