Well, over at the Daily Howler, Bob Somerby has been on a kick since at least 2016 about how we must “pity the child” (that is, Trump) because something something suboptimal upbringing not his fault yada yada. He’s really been on a roll this last week.
Frankly, I find it annoying and not at all useful. Even worse than his recent several months’ long obsession with the Iliad.
Laid off employees and hungry people mean nothing to MAGATS, as long as it isn’t them.

I have also been thinking about defamation a lot lately. I have been made “redundant” several times in my career, despite excellent reviews. If the CEO of one of my former companies publicly exclaimed I was fired because I am a fraudster, liar, and cheater, that would be defamation.
I could just imagine my next job interview, where the manager says, “I can’t hire you. The President says you are a fraudster, liar, and cheater.”

When some early dementia folks get confused, the start forgetting things, or think they might forgetting things. They struggle with new information, but are good with old information. They look for someone they think they can trust, to help them, and then really start turning the reigns to them. This is what makes them so incredibly vulnerable to fraud.
