This is legal reasoning as done by a six year old. But the six year old is likely to grow up and will eventually reason like an adult. No such luck with that brain dead judge.

Ah yes, good old Texas, helping to keep the South a place where women’s lives don’t matter one bit. And they wonder why people call the state the hell hole of the nation!
This is going to go down in history as the dumbest judicial decision ever made.
And the Texas District Court’s decision is going to be a very close second.

To quote from the Wikipedia page, seeing as the US Courts website doesn’t seem to have it, the Pecos division covers several counties; Brewster, Culberton, Jeff Davis, Loving, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Ward, Winkler. Basically the whole Pecos valley. It’s one of seven divisions of the western district of Texas.

Combined population roughly the same as everybody within 1.5 miles of my home.
There is no federal courthouse within 1.5 miles of my home.
It’s an historical disregard for women! If the majority of persons harmed or murdered were men, guns would be restricted.

I would normally be right there with you in that sentiment, but the double digit margins for Abbot and Paxton in the last election f’ing disgust me.
My life long republican father voted straight ticket democrat this year, but it doesn’t seem like any others did. It feels pretty hopeless here sometimes.

My oft-repeated rule of thumb is that Texas is turning blue at a rate of 0.5% per year.
2018: Abbott +13.3
2022: Abbott +10.9
My rule of thumb checks out.
