Judge Uses 2022 SCOTUS Ruling To Say Domestic Abusers Can Keep Their Guns

That’s hard to tell. It may actually indicate that they understand that such a thing is demonstrably insane. But they’ll draw the line where it’s convenient for them, and doesn’t put them at risk.

On the other hand I like to bring this up and point out that if there was a mass shooter I’d definitely be able to take the bad guy with a gun out. Collateral damage? Is that a problem?

We are fortunate that Scalia corrected that misinterpretation. He obviously knew more about the original intent of the 2nd Amendment than John Marshall, who was one of the founding fathers.

Well sure, why not? After all, these toxic men will only be murdering women so who cares? If these women didn’t want to be murdered they should have kept their legs closed.

Silly rabbit, originalism just means we can do whatever we want and wrap it in a steaming pile of BS.

Beyond bringing the number of SCOTUS Justices up to the number of Appeal’s Court (i.e. 13), there is a solid case to reorganize all the lower jurisdictions to bring them back to a rational geographical organization based on 21st Century population counts.

I do wish that the GQP would just come out and say it; woman deserve life only so long as a man decides they are worthy of it.

That’s the state courthouse.

Filtered by Latino Voters, not by the State of Texas.

Putting aside for the moment that the Second Amendment has been absurdly misinterpreted in recent years well beyond it’s original intent, the notion that all laws restricting gun availability by criminals must hew to the weak, antiquated and practically irrelevant laws that existed at the founding of our nation is legally and logically absurd. It’s shameful that a judge could propose such nonsense without universal ridicule.

Correct. Now, for bonus points, can you tell me what the most rapidly-increasing demographic group in the state is?

Out-of-staters? Realtors?

Roughly half of all babies born in Texas are Latino. Another 13% or so are black. White births are only about one-third. And considering how decisively the youngest Latino voters broke for Biden over Trump, this state could flip hard in the near future. Maybe not by 2024, but very likely indeed by 2028.

Yes, it’s definitely the defining trend.

Right; single shot load, bullet doesn’t have its own powder, you have to load that separately from a powder horn. Kinda of a crap shoot as to whether it would fire any given time. That would certainly help to reduce the mass killings!

Yeah; it’s easy to forget that not so long ago, the Republicans were filibustering the hell out of judicial nominations by Democratic presidents.

The reality is that judges who rule like that (besides being dumber than dirt) just don’t care if women and children are murdered. For them, the domestic abuse victim deserves to die.

An alternative way of reading the decision is that a district court judge followed the applicable legal standard as recently established by the very bad and stupid and malignantly political Supreme Court.

Maybe he wants to expose the stupidity of Thomas decision.

What a misogynistic ruling from the logical fallacy of an abusive pig wholecloth.
