Judge To Trump: Explain Why You Think The Law Doesn’t Apply To You

My governor said it so it must be true.

Violent crime in the [San Joaquin] Valley became a political lightning rod last year when Governor Newsom declared Kern County the state’s “murder capital.” Kern County topped the list for two consecutive years, reporting about one murder for every 7,200 people in 2021.

What Will Rogers once said no longer holds true.

I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat.

Welp,

Judge To Trump: Explain Why You Think The Law Doesn’t Apply To You

He is “trump” after all and that singular fact all by itself renders him speschul. So speschul that he’s off the charts speschul. And considering this he ought to be beyond any law. After all he did say early in his presidency that “Article Two says I can do whatever I want” (of course it doesn’t but HE thought it did). I mean…who actually needs to read the Constitution? Article 1 section 3 has an interesting last paragraph as follows (bolding is mine)…
“Judgement in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States; but the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgement and punishment according to Law”.

Should trump break laws he ought to be held accountable if in or if out of office. The point of the bolding is everyone is equal under law. Far as I can tell he did break laws. Several laws in fact.

Every day is a new low for the Trump party. They are disintegrating in front of our eyes. It is especially entertaining when a judge gets involved.

I think the Lucy show used that in the bread-baking incident. Always hilarious, however.

Because that’s not how the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure or the federal contempt statute work?

Young Guns indeed! They all shot themselves in the head. No lasting legacy other than fucking over the country. Did it ever occur to these idiots that they might be in the wrong profession. Maybe selling carpet or used cars.

It appears Chutkan is essentially saying “I’ll grant you a certain amount of leeway to wriggle and slither as you’re wont to do but let me remind you: I am an experienced eeler.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - these guys are all morons. If it weren’t for social media and the twisted neo-fascist politics of today’s GOP, they would all be living in cardboard boxes down by the river and lecturing juvenile delinquents on how to stay out of jail.
