The pattern of defiance is so familiar now that there is almost no benefit of the doubt left for federal judges to give the Trump administration. This morning, in one of the key cases in which the U.S. government has been ordered to “facilitate” the return of a deported individual, U.S. District Judge Stephanie Gallagher…
The Federal Administrative branch doesn’t care about the law apparently any longer. It’s been taking the Judiciary branch 5 years to catch up.
Donnie is about to turn 79 years old and it is about damned time that someone told him “NO!” and was able to enforce it. The fate of the nation depends upon it.
“Upon directive of the Office of Attorney General and, upon information and belief, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, we have been instructed to withhold compliance with the Court’s orders in this case.”
Easy peasy. Go out on your shield, morons.
And the MSM will still tell us how cute Donnie is.
And spanked him with a hickory board until he couldn’t sit in his golf cart.
Seems to me that the appropriate people to round up are AG Bondi and Stephen Miller.
Unless those two people are kings, also.
Yes, jail them until the detainees are returned. Time to pull the bandage off.
Does the judicial branch have a budget for one-way charters?
But who, pray tell, are going to round them up?
Exactly. Unless judges start pushing back against a co-equal branch of the government, nothing will change. There must be consequences and it can’t be five years from now.
Since they have complete contempt for the courts, hold them in contempt until they comply.
I hope Judge Gallager isn’t the female version of Garland. The poor guy Cristian is so close to disappearing from Media coverage. This is good news.
If we’re going to find out sometime, may as well find out sooner rather than later
cue ‘concerned’ Susan Collins?
I am not holding my breath as the Supremes will ultimately say all this was “official acts” QED.
let’s not fantasize. our only hope is civil disobedience and elections to the extent they still happen next year.
Goes back to my question from earlier today, asking what happens even if contempt proceedings are started. Another slap on the wrist that is ignored?
Gallagher pulled no punches, writing that the administration’s status report:
- “adds nothing to the underlying record”
- “reflects a lack of any effort”
- “shows zero effort to comply”
- is “patently insufficient”
- shows a “blatant lack of effort”
What happens now?
Absolutely nothing. Zero, Zilch, Nada.
Will TACO try to fire the judges?
Kidnapping and human trafficking are crimes against humanity.
Every single agent of the department of homeland security should be held accountable when the time comes to line them up along the wall.
