‘Well-Established History’ of Retribution U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz, a President George W. Bush appointee, threw out Trump DOJ grand jury subpoenas aimed at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz from January, finding in a ruling unsealed Monday that there was “no doubt” that the subpoenas were issued to retaliate against Walz. “Initiating a criminal investigation in…

Who would have thought that a felon whose next career opportunity would be the head of a large and powerful organization would direct that organization to do unlawful acts?

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is continuing his Trump (and Ken Paxton) shit-talking tour post-primary loss

Cornyn hasn’t said anything particularly harsh nor taken any actions that might thwart the administration. This is nothing more than whiny sour grapes from what amounts to the Texas male version of Susan Collins.

Cornyn said. “And while Talarico is definitely a weirdo, you know, take your pick.”

In other words, Paxton is also a weirdo.

Calling someone a weirdo for being Christian is a bit too on the nose for Texas hypocrisy.

Cornyn is well aware of Paxton’s corruption and that Paxton saw to it that a pedophile was released from prison. Ya sure Senator Cornyn -take your pick.

“Initiating a criminal investigation in order to coerce them into taking official action is… blatantly unlawful.”

Not when Big Republican Government says it isn’t unlawful.

Grow a pair, Cornyn. Endorse Talarico. Until then, you’re just a roadkill armadillo, a prehistoric-looking creature soon to be extinct.

Paxton’s supporters are also calling Talarico “weird” because, now 37, he has never been married, probably intending the implication that he’s gay or, at the very least, straight but undersexed – either way, unmanly. (He does look about 16.) Soft-spoken, he doesn’t wear a 50-gallon hat or walk with a swagger, and he has spent his adult life getting educated, being an educator (including at commie Teach for America), and serving in the Texas legislature. He freely talks about how his Christian commitments lead him to progressive policy positions. Weird, in Texas! Plus, he’s a Presbyterian, an evangelical denomination but not of the sort familiar to most Texan evangelicals. Which is probably why Talarico likes to talk about his beloved grandfather, a Southern Baptist minister.

Every state or region or neighborhood is different from the other. I had occasion today to revisit this wonderful short about a neighborhood in Brooklyn (Red Hook, but it could have been others). I miss when our daughter lived in Brooklyn! (@kelaine, do try out the Palestinian restaurant I recommended once.)

One State is missing from this list if you believe the current administration.

The US government collects confidential, personally identifying information from residents, who are legally required to disclose it to facilitate collection of taxes and distribution of government benefits paid for with those taxes. In return, the government is required to strictly maintain the confidentiality of that information because individuals have a right to privacy that borders on a sacred trust. Who knew.
