“Schecter’s decision means Trump will have to give a deposition in the case by January 31, according to CNN.”

There’s really no time to squeeze in a deposition.

I think he’ll be busy with phase 2 of his annual physical between now and 1/31.

That and, you know … presidenting stuff like ego rallies and corrupt shakedowns.

How many more things can we pile on this Orange shitgibbon? Might mean more unplanned trips to Walter Reed.

“THEY’RE COUP-ING HIM FROM ALL SIDES!!!”, Fox News will shout, dimly aware that Trump is under fire from all sides because he was so busy criming in all directions at all times.

What happens if–I mean when–he blows the deposition headline?

The lawyers need to crowdsource questions to ask him.

If Trump ignores the deposition he’s likely to be held in contempt of court, judges don’t like it when you ignore their orders. He doesn’t have an out here either, as Clinton had to be deposed while president as well so the precedent supports this happening. I don’t know if he can appeal, but he will lose the appeal, especially since this is a state matter.

It’s taken far too long, but the justice system is catching up to Trump and his attempts to delay are running out.

Financial penalties?

I’m trying to figure out how this goes. I’m assuming he won’t be deposed by January 31. So back to court, and the judge holds him in contempt. Then what?

I can almost see a line out the door of the Supreme Court building as case after case winds up with them.

If the court has ordered Trump to present himself by that deadline, he will be subject to contempt of court if he fails to comply. If Zervos has just issued a discovery request to Trump, Zervos would respond to his failure to comply with a motion to compel the deposition. I presume Trump will also look to the appellate courts in an attempt to put it off.

I don’t know the procedures available to him in the NY state courts to obtain review, but discovery rulings are generally not reviewable except in some pretty extraordinary circumstances. But Trump can try to petition to SCOTUS after exhausting his efforts in state court. Who knows if Kavanaugh will suddenly discover a Summer Zervos exception to the Paula Jones precedent.

Contempt penalties are either a little jail time (unenforceable until he leaves office) or financial… and Trump still owns lots of properties in NY, so financial seems like the way to hurt him most. $100K per day ought to get his attention from the golf course and pussy grabbing.

Trump will have DOJ and his private attorneys slowly appeal this decision until the end of time.

ETA: It doesn’t matter that a deposition order generally cannot be appealed. His attorneys will find a way to appeal something or the will issue an executive order saying that the Chief Executive can ignore deposition deadlines during a “National Emergency”.

I’ve never done anything I am accuse of doing. Don’t believe your eyes when you view all those tapes. The people speaking are all impersonators. I’m 100% innocent, lots of people are telling me that.

Tomorrow’s story: WH insiders say that he’s been asking if he can fire the judge for being a never trumper.

I’ve kind of vacillated between Groped Over Panties and the Grand Old Politburo, so good for the Rumpublicans they can be all things to all people!

Greedy Old Perverts works for me.

No. The Court can enter a default and proceed to an inquest to determine damages forthwith.
