So much for that fancy “rule of law” crap. LOL.
Trump may successfully turn the federal and state judicial systems into just another ring in his circus.
Engoran and Chutkan need to stay strong and McAfee needs to suck it up and not let this motherfucker off the hook. Trials before the election are absolutely necessary. To delay the trials is the election interference - to not let the American people see the evidence against the defendant would prevent the electorate voting for the future of democracy. from being fully informed.
Fuck.
Isn’t sitting on trial for multiple criminal offenses typically disruptive to one’s professional aspirations? Why should he get special allowance just because he wants to be president?
Start it in two weeks.
It’s so unfair to Trump to have this hanging over his head. Why, he might lose votes if he’s akshully not guilty. So, we’re doing him a favor.
He doesn’t just want to be president … he wants to destroy American democracy.
That’s what’s special.
Nor Lyndon LaRouche in 1992.
It’s been done before. It’s not a new concept.
and claimed that the campaign would make the trial impossible.
Boo hoo. Stop campaigning.
Trump has sought across his criminal cases to delay as much as possible.
Because he’s so innocent. (Trump is guilty.)
“Can you imagine the notion of the Republican nominee for president not being able to campaign"
Yes, if he had to answer for criminal deeds. Donald J Trump broke his oath as executive of the highest office in the country. He’s obliged to answer for his past behavior.
Not plead bone spurs while begging for money.
“Can you imagine the notion of the Republican nominee for president not being able to campaign because he’s in some courtroom defending himself?” Sadow said.“
This is Trump asking for special treatment… again.
Mr. Bragg…Mr. Alvin Bragg…you are wanted on the blue courtesy phone.
Mr. Bragg…
I thought one of the reasons Trump announced his presidential campaign so early was to try and stave off these various annoying court cases? With that said the man has been campaigning early and more often then any other candidate in my memory.
So he got head start on campaigning, he doesn’t have to introduce himself to voters because they know him, and lastly justice delayed is justice denied.
Absolutely right. And with any luck, we’ll have the increasingly longer list of his convictions getting added to, soon.
If Trump is to get special treatment because he’s running for president, that should extend to judges at all levels pushing everything else on their dockets to the back burner to resolve his legal issues ASAP. And since his campaign is so important to him, every obvious attempt to delay by his parking lot lawyers should be considered evidence that he is not capable of clearing his name and is only running to stay out of jail.
He’s obviously playing the courts off against each other regarding scheduling. “Wait, you have to push the trial date back because my other trial is happening then.” Rinse and repeat for each trial. When will the justice system realize they are being played in this way?
But he and his pals can slow things to a crawl. If elected again he can tell his AG to sweep all the federal indictments away.
Eight months is not enough time to prep for a trial?
WTF are they doing? Playing endless rounds of golf? Sleeping in? Vacations? Three hour lunch breaks?
There are multiple lawyers on both sides. Divide the work and get’er done. Six months should be more than adequate but then I’m no lawyer.
I just hope all these sycophant lawyers follow him to prison.
They’ve all sold their souls to that monster. I’m not sure if they’re true believers, but they deserve to be trapped in a room with him for all eternity.
“Can you imagine the notion of the Republican nominee for president not being able to campaign because he’s in some courtroom defending himself?” Sadow said.
Vividly.
And very appropriately.
I guess the new normal is to commit a fuckload of crimes and then run for president to avoid prosecution. America!
I don’t remember which judge it was, might have been Chutkin in the DC trial, who said with regard to Trump (paraphrasing) that a defendant’s day job is not a consideration in setting the court’s trial schedule.
That “day job” comment was a sick burn, Trump must have hated it. But it’s also accurate. There is nothing about running for office that confers immunity from criminal prosecution. I’m surprised this GA judge is even allowing discussion of it in court.
