Judge Holds WI Elex Commission In Contempt, Demands Voter Purge

Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Paul Malloy found the Wisconsin Elections Commission in contempt of court Monday, fining the board and some individual members for not immediately removing over 200,000 voters from the rolls.

This seems bizarre. A Judge who’s more a partisan zealot than a cool-minded, dispassionate arbiter of the law.

Imagine if Federal Judges behaved similarly when faced with all of Trump’s frivolous appeals?

Seems a little rushed to Purge the Non Responsive Voters to me, which indicates to me the Judge is not an independent judiciary. The damage will be greater if the voters are purged and his decision overturned.

I also hate that more and more, “radical” groups are wanting to bypass court layers in haste to get an action they want.

When did this happen?

The liberal League of Women Voters

I always thought they were bipartisan. Wish they’d sponsor the debates again.

Wisconsin. A long history of making Illinois politicians look saintly by comparison…

A very difficult task…

It’s pretty clear that the voters who are wrongly purged will suffer “irreparable harm” should they be disenfranchised.

But of course, that is the whole point, to cause “harm” to those who are not Republicans.

These are the type of rulings that the future holds for America because of the unqualified & hyper Partisan judges that Trump has put on the bench.

“board must pay $50 daily, and its three Democratic members who are fighting the purge an additional $250 a day each, every day they do not remove the voters.”

That sounds like discrimination based on the political identity of the Democratic Members, and is a violation of the Constitution. All members should be fined 250/day for it to not be a violation. But then again, GOP gonna violate the constitution, amiright or amiright?

How bout a compromise?
This election cycle just purge all the republicans on the list, then next time the democrats.
Seems fair.

League of women voters is a nonpartisan group that aims to inform the electorate.

We have an election to win here damnit
The finger needs to be on the scale for that to happen
All those Dem voters will block our win

Hey. Watch it. Only my home state has the distinction of having three governors in jail.

The League is nonpartisan.

@jcs I didn’t read far enough down thread. My wife is on the executive committee of the local chapter and is pretty sensitive about public opinion on this issue.

More correctly that McConnell has put on the bench. Trump does nothing more than forward the names of candidates he gets from the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reporter made that “liberal organization” mistake in a previous story and I snapped at the writer on Twitter. The League of Women Voters always emphasizes that it is a nonpartisan group.

The Milwaukee Journal used to be a great paper, and it was still pretty decent after the merger with the Sentinel, but since Gannett bought it…

There seems little doubt that this guy is a transparently partisan Republican, but he is a state judge, not a Drumpf appointee.
